I took my laptop, digital camera and mini digital video recorder with me and carried it on. All was fine through the Xray machine. Airport security usually has you remove the laptop from the carrying case you have it in and put it through the conveyer belt by itself.
X-rays are a form of light. Light doesn't mess with digital memory and doesn't mess with electronics in general.
The reason there's often a problem with FILM being x-rayed is because film, by its very essence, is sensitive to light, even light the human eye can't see (such as x-rays).
