I'm going to take my dSLR for the first time on my trip in a couple of weeks. Is there anything I need to know about security and my camera bag? I have a lowepro fastpack 250. The bottom will house:
my Pentax k100d super w/ 28-80 attached
My new 28-105 f2.8 and my new 28-200.
A zipper compartment will hold a rain sleeve, extra batteries, and some filters.
The top compartment will house, just my jacket, a refillable mug, and trading pins.
The laptop compartment will house my homemade autograph book, notebook, and my must have shot lists.

I know I'm taking several lenses that will over lap each other, but 2 of them will be new and I may have only have them for a couple of days before my trip. Also my fiance loves the 28-80 and doesn't think he'll like my new lenses. The only thing I may add is if I find a 50mm prime or a very wide angle lens for cheap before my trip.

I've been walking around with this bag for months with my camera, 4 random lenses, and a 15in laptop. So I know it won't be that heavy, most the time I think I'll be wearing the camera around my neck.

Thanks in Advance

If your going to WDW you shouldn't have a problem, you'll just have to open your bag and let them look at it.

If your going to DL they may hastle you at the security station about having a professional camera. They determine that by a random picture without any knowlege of cameras. Just ask for a supervisor and tell them what BS it is, because the little supper zoom they just let through has more maginifcation than your 200. (can you tell I have had this arguement a few times?)

Thanks, we will be going to WDW. I didn't think there would be a lot of issue. I just wasn't sure if there had been any problems. Honestly, my dslr is only 6mpxls and I'm not bringing any super long lenses or even professional quality equipment. I also know that Disney's rules about outside photographers in the parks has changed in the last year, because it's causing a lot of wedding planning drama. So I wasn't sure if there was any sort of changes to camera equipment guests can bring into to the parks.

Thanks again.

Be prepared for a security guard to rummage through your bag without any care or respect for your gear. Or you having to pull everything out so they an see the bottom of your bag. The younger security guards are the worst. Once I started getting into the lines with the older guards I've had less trouble with security asking me to open up evey little compartment and bag.

It seems like I've had a lot of bad experiences, but really I has only been a couple, but it was annoying enough to leave a bad taste in mmy mouth.

I never had a problem with security, I open my bag and show them what is in it. I strongly suggest just carrying one lens around with you. There is no way you need to carry all three of those.

I have your bag and have gone to Disneyland on 4 occasions since getting it. Since these are day trips, I carry D90, 18-105, 30 f/1.4 and 70-300 (I have left this at home the last 2 times) and never had a problem with security. I always wear the camera so there is no chance of them dropping it. the Fast pack 250 has some many zippers that it is a pain to unzip but re-zipping is even a bigger pain. I will be taking it with me to WDW this week though I don't expect to be carrying it much. I got a belt pouch for the 30mm and will try to go with just the camera and it most of the time. I will let you know if I get any hassles.
