I've got that bag too (and the $7mill)! I have quite a collection. Crumpler is an Australian company, but they are available in the US.

This is a great bag for a compact kit. However, it will not accomodate a longer lens or extra stuff - sunscreen, purse, etc.

Aussie eh? That's awesome! When I was initially looking for a new bag I was thinking of finding something that would fit inside my daypack/backpack. WRONG! I should have been thinking the other way around; get a photo bag that I can carry other stuff in. Now that I'm thinking about it...the $7M might be a good option for our upcoming trip. The $5M is great for here at home, in and around town, but at DL something with a bit more storage might just be the perfect fit...

Thanks for the idea!

I know I read a few days ago about a girl that was starting to take pics for photopass. She gave her name and certian days that she would be at Animal Kingdom taking pictures. For the life of me I can't find that thread or remember her name. So if you are the CM please write back. I would like to take our pic when we are down in 15 days. Thanks a lot!!!!

DId you make a reply post in the thread? If so just search all the posts you've made and see what is familar.

I have a question about photopass pics. What is the largest anyone has printed out one of their pics? I have a great pic of DS8 with Darth Vader at Jedi Training and want to print out and frame it for a Hanukkah present.

Please share, with links if possible, and why you like it (or don't like it), what you keep in it, where to buy, and whatever else you want to share about it.

Thanks!

PS Guys are welcome to respond, too. Just figured you don't have as much "stuff" to carry around as we do. ;)

How much camera stuff are we talking...and do you plan on putting your camera in the bag, or will that be around your neck the whole time?

When I first purchased my D60 and was planning our trip to the World, I knew I wouldn't be willing to wear a backpack around the parks (b/c of heat, bulkiness, and I knew it wouldn't match my shoes ;) ). I also knew I wanted something that looked reasonably presentable for when we went into a restaurant, etc. so I made the decision to get a messenger bag (that is not actually a camera bag at all). I purchashed the Longchamp Le Pliage Messenger bag. Here is a picture (although mine is not this color).

While I know this is not very practical for most, I actually loaded it up with everything I think I will be taking to WDW and it fits it all surprisingly well. In the front pockets, I kept my spare memory (2 4gb SD cards), extra battery, an ND filter, an iPOD nano (which I would imagine would be the size of the remote shutter release I'm going to get) and my cell phone.

In the big middle pocket, I put the Gorillapod on the bottom, my nifty fifty on top (although I would hopefully be bringing the Sigma 30 instead), along with a water bottle, my small P&S and some pages from my Passporter. I could probably fit my camera body and 18-200mm VR in the main compartment of the bag if the water bottle wasn't in...although I would have to take it the lens off the body which isn't that convenient.

In the back pocket (that doesn't have any sort of closure) I put some propel drink packets and my sunglasses, as well as the lens cap and a lens cleaning pen.

This bag is extremely comfortable, reasonably "stylish" and can be used as a purse the rest of the trip if you aren't bringing the DSLR, the main portion is made of Nylon so while it isn't water proof, it is water resistant if it starts to rain (although I wouldn't walk around in the rain with it) and the strap is made of some sort of woven cotton or something. The messenger style is nice because it's easy to access and you don't have to worry about it slipping off of your shoulder like a normal purse.

All of that being said for this bag, I think I will also invest in a nice durable, comfortable and less "stylish" (more unisex so DH can carry it around as well) backpack type of bag for when I am trying to cart around more gear (i.e. our trip to Alaska the following summer).

For travel, I have a rolling Pelican that I take along with me which also houses my laptop.

While I was in the parks, I use my Tracy Joy (Kristen) shoot bag. Love it; I even kept diapers and wipes - still have a kid in diapers - in there too. I wear it like a messenger bag. Love how it conforms to the body.

It's important to note though that I'm used to shlepping large amounts of equipment for long periods of time. So walking around Disney all day with all my gear wasn't an issue for me.

I know a lot of people also love the shootsac; but I didn't want to drop $250 on a bag, so the Tracy Joy was a big more in my price range.

Oh... and I should add that we don't carry much into the parks with us. I just throw 3-4 diapers, wipes, wallet and cell phone in my bag and call it good along with all my standard camera stuff.

I'd recommend the "vest" you posted in the vest thread.

You might check to see if it comes in pink so that it doesn't look too masculine.

I use my lowepro slingshot 200. I carry my camera with me 99% of the time and just use the very top section as my "purse". It really cuts down on all that "stuff" I think I have to have when I carry a purse. You know that stuff you can't live without and never ever ever use.

DW carries her stuff in a Crumpler $5M bag when we are on photo trips.

I also have a Lowepro slingshot 200. I dont carry purse to begin with and take my camera with me almost everywhere I go. The little section at the top I put the stuff that is not camera related but I think I have to take it with me anyway.

This is my christmas presant to my self. it's the perfect size for my D70 and a lense extra battery, and cell phone, book, make up, juice boxes... you get my drift

Just curious....are either of those bags padded? If not, is it okay to carry a DSLR around in an unpadded bag? A salesman led me to believe that a slight bump can destroy a DSLR...is that being overly cautious?

As for me, I'm debating on using this:

Or one of these (if an unpadded bag is okay):

As for camera equipment, I only plan on carrying my Sony A350 with a 28-300mm lens.

That absolutely would crimp my style, Mark. Even in pink. :rotfl2:

My DH seriously thought I should consider this :lmao:

Back to the drawing board...

Pea-n-Me - That "scarf", or whatever it is, is hilarious...very fashionable!! We're headed to the Virgin Islands next weekend and I can just picture myself arriving at the airport with my passport in one pouch, sunglasses in another, etc, etc...I can only imagine what DD15 would have to say and I'm sure she'd be walking 10 feet behind me!!:)

There was a thread on the budget board last week about this bag because ebags was selling it for $7.99 (the price went back up a few days ago) and I think someone said they were using it for their dslr. I think the only complaints I've read about it is that the strap isn't very comfortable and it tends to cut into your shoulder (and a dslr is going to make the bag heavier than normal). I personally prefer a bag that has some padding and a comfortable strap, I replaced my LowePro bag strap with an Op/Tech strap.
