If you have a camcorder, what kind do you have and what do you recommend. Looking for something that will take good nighttime recordings.![]()

Another vote for Sony! I have a Sony Mini-DV camcorder too and it is fantastic. Mine is a few years old so the model (DCR-TRV11) isn't made anymore, but there is an equivalent out now that just has a different button layout. I absolutely adore my Sony. I have not had any problems with it at all. It is small, lightweight, and has great quality. The only thing I really don't like is that the still photo function is pretty low-res, but I have a digital camera that I use anyway, so it doesn't matter to me. They are probably better on current models if that is a factor.

Of course you can see the finished video, Shannon. Relax with your cup of coffee and watch the fireworks. Be sure to wear your goggles also, so you don't get blinded. You may also see a grey cat running across the screen.![]()

One takes VHS tapes (poor night quality, but it's 11 years old), the other one takes 8 mm tapes (I'm not sure of the night quality on it).
It has a spotlight on it, but we've never tried it out.
