We're thinking about either Runaway Bay, Country Inns & Suites, or Amerisuites, all at Calypso Cay. Does anyone have any comments on any of these? Thanks very much.

We stayed Mar 8-12 at Country Inn & Suites. I chose them because of the micro and fridge in the room as well as the zero entry pool. Cooler temperatures kept us out of the pool most of the time but ds (4) did love the slide and dd (2) was thrilled to walk right into the pool. Pool was warmish and another was heated, but gettin gout into cool breezy air was tough!

Overall, our stay was fine, but I don't know if I'd stay there again. Pool rim ws mildewed, all the hardware in our bathroom was falling apart (plastic knob that tells which direction to turn as well as sink and tub drain stoppers). Our carpet was less than perfectly clean and housekeeping failed to clean our room two days (front desk said we must've left the DNDsing out, but we never used it).

We paid $59/night and did not use the free shuttle. Front desk staff was not particulary friendly nor helpful. Our AC broke and no one addressed it while we were gone. Had to track down the building maintenance myself after 12 hours in MK. Free breakfast was all carbs but got us going for early park entry. I like the close proximity to Oceola parkway (.50 toll road direct to WDW).

Let me know if you have any questions.

here is my comments from there:

we stayed there 2 days in Oct

front desk was very nice

buffet was bagels, toast, juice, cereal, french toast, pastry, yogurt

fairly nice pool area with zero entry pool and small waterslide, and bar area, a regular pool, and free mini golf

the room: you walk into the living area- sleeper sofa, couch, chair, sm table to eat at, micro, fridge, dishes

there is a partial wall separating the sleeping area, with the bathroom off of there. The TV is shared between the bedroom and living area

I thought it was clean and worth what we paid. The only thing I did not like was that it only had a partial wall(DH likes to stay up late and watch tv, and I am early to bed, early to rise).

There is a rewards program you can join on the internet. With it, you get free local calls and late check out if available.

We stayed her last sept. and really like the place, the rooms were very clean and front desk staff was a blast (may have been too many drinks we had while at dinner?) the only complaint was the coffee at the cont. breakfast running out every day. Will recommend this for others look for mid prized range.

We stayed there last Sept and thought it was a great value as we payed about $50/night for our family of 4. It rained too much for us to check out the pools, though so I can't comment on them.

We were pleased with the free buffet - crowds were never a problem. Front desk staff wasn't the friendliest. Never used the shuttle. Location was pretty darn good. Lots of stuff, restaraunts, etc. around if you aren't in the theme parks for a full day every day.

I would stay there again for this price for a short trip. It's not enough room for us for a full week's trip, though.
