Does anyone know where to find the calories in food for Disney? Many places that I go to know have the calories listed next to the food item, which makes it easy to count calories. But I do not remember seeing any while at the World while I was there. Is a list posted somewhere? It would be a pain to ask a chef each time something was chosen. It is possible to eat healthy, I get that, but would rather make a calorie choice instead of eating like a rabbit!

Unfortunately the FDA rules only apply to chain restaurants with 20 or more locations, Disney don't fall under that so don't have to publish the info

I wish the FDA rule applied to everyone! It would help so much. Like instead of eating 5K calories eat like 2500 calories. I guess I could ask everywhere I go. Do they have calories listed if you ask for them?

Just make smart decisions and allow yourself a cheat when you'd like one. You can ballpark calories by using myfitnesspal and knowing the ingredients in the dish (chicken, broccoli, Mac and cheese, etc). You don't have to eat like a rabbit every meal, just try to make informed choices. If you skipped those pancakes with chocolate sauce and bacon in the morning, then have your pizza (or whatever) for dinner :thumbsup2 calorie counts are always helpful, but when you don't have them available, just practice smart choices and moderation!

Ya know...this is information that they really should make available to the public. Even if they only want to divulge this info to visitors rather than the general public. I would also love to know the sodium content of their menu items. I realize that many disagree & feel that while on vacation one should indulge - I agree to some extent. However, there are many people out there that, for medical reasons, need to know this information. I eat gluten free & Disney is terrific regarding that allergy! I wish they would be more transparent with all of their dining options though.

To the OP you are so correct. Just cause we are on vacation should not mean we should blow a lifestyle we have. What is the big deal if they give us the information? I really do not feel it would effect them on the $$ side of things. Since most people think just eat while on vacation! I will admit due to my job I still have to stay fit. The last time I was there I was still running 2-3 miles a day AFTER being at the park all day! Yes some looked at me like I was crazy but you do what you gotta do!!!

I second the idea of using myfitnesspal to get a ballpark estimate of the calories. Might not be exact, but it will give you a pretty good idea, and be more helpful than not having any calorie info at all!

I use calorie king to get an idea I have type 1 diabetes so I have to count carbs a little off and I wind up in the hospital or have alpha called ( paramedics) have had this done more times then I can count. I so wish they would have this information available one thing you can do and I do this now is ask what the portion size is then look up the food a lot of things I just know since I do this every time I eat

how many calories do you try to eat a day is this for weight loss the only region I ask is that you do a lot more walking at disney and burn more calories so you maybe able to have a few extra and not worry too much.

Also just make good chose veggies instead of fries things like that.

have a great trip

Op please don't bother a chef asking about calorie counts..... they have enough to do with food allergy issues - a cupcake at Disney has the same amount of calories and fat as a cupcake at home...... just try to make basic choices that you know are decent options- it's obvious that a side of steamed veggies is going to be a better option than a pile of loaded mashed potatoes.... or a serving of pretzels than an entire frozen mickey bar..... from what I understand most of it is about serving sizes .... that's what you need to be careful of in restaurants...

I hate to break it to you, but even at your normal go-to restaurants, those big chains that have to provide the info, it's almost always inaccurate! Each chef preps a little different, used a slightly heavier hand with the oil in the sauce, cut the slices thicker, packed the scoop more, leading to the calories listed to be up to 60% lower. Even in packaged controlled foods the FDA allows counts to be 20% off.
