Calling The Hotel For Reservations

Does anyone know the deposit policy, when you book directly through the hotel? Also, is the policy different for the week after Christmas? TIA

They "should" charge you for one night as the deposit. I have booked this way once and they did charge the one night. I am unaware if the policy changes during holidays.
