We are going to our Orlando timeshare on 5/1 for 2 weeks...I'm the Disneynut and DH is more of a golfing person. The fees at our resort OLCC have gotten so high that he is looking to play golf other places within the Disney area. He really doesn't mind driving 30 minutes or so. Has anybody out there found some good courses that would be good, reasonable and fun to play? I've noticed that on IbidUSA there are some courses listed to bid on - does anyone know anything about these courses? I'd like to surprise him with a list of courses and information..or even a certificate or two. Of course my strategy is to get him out on the links...so I can fly off to Disney! :earboy2: ha ha ha ha Thanks for your help....

I was there April 2003 and the prices had just been reduced for summer rates. I found the twilight (afternoon) rates very reasonable.... I'm surprised. Can you elaborate. I think the 9 hole was $9 or less and the new course I think I paid $30-$35.

I think Orlando now has a Last minute golf site where they buy and sell tee times at greatly reduced prices the day you golf.

There are so many courses and they are not 100% booked.

Should be easy to find with a web search.

From what we see ... the prices for OLCC until April 17 are
Legends - Owners 85.00 RCI members and Guests 105.00
Cranes Bend (9 hole) 29.00 RCI members and Guests 35.00
Legends Walk 19.00 RCI members and Guests 24.00

The problem DH has is with the 7 day pass.....
Owners - 549.00 RCI members and Guests 629.00
this is consecutive days..(expires after 7 days of first use)

He said this will all be reduced a little on April 18th -

Since he's a senior citizen - he doesn't usually play 7 days in a row....since we're down there for two weeks if he could use it every other day it would be wonderful...but they won't let you do that. We own 4 weeks down there and go in the spring (May/June) and fall (Oct./Nov).
He said that he's heard of courses in the vicinity that he could play for less...that's what I'm trying to find out for him. I'll look into that Name Your Price site...
It would be so wonderful if we could just go to our timeshare and he could just always play there. Like everyone else - and as senior citizens..we like to be careful with our budget.
Of course...I keep reminding him that we've been owners down there for more than 12 years and things won't ever be the way they were when we first owned there.... :rotfl: ..we even used to get the daily paper delivered to the unit every morning!!!!! thanks from Texas!!!!!

Legends prices on their web site are listed higher than if you call. I live there :)

Also, King's Ridge right across the street from Legend's is supposed to be nice.

I don't play. I just sit on my lanai and watch (and sometimes laugh ;) )

I'm sorry...I mean't the "Legends" course at OLCC (that's what they named it).
We looked at your beautiful area the last few times we were down there and are seriously thinking of moving to Kings Ridge!!! It's just so hard to make a decision to move away from family....although with 4 married children and 10 grandchildren I'm sure we'd have LOTS of company!!! Your house is just wonderful...a dream come true for you! When were there in October we were told that they were developing a new area not too far from where you are. We'll probably check next month when we are there. I'm so taken by Kings Ridge that I really don't even want to look at it...but Jim does!!!
