calling for requests

when does disney assign rooms. i was wondering if it would be advantageous to call for more specific requests then on the online check-in. would i call main reservations or call directly to the resort i am staying. how far in advance TIA

You would call main reservations, as all of the published resort numbers go to a call center. It probably doesn't matter either way, no matter who you call, they're going to type your requests into your reservation record.

They generally assign rooms a few days before your arrival.

You should simply have your requests noted on your reservation, which you can do at any time.

Have you looked at the "Online-line" check-in features in the last couple of days? It was reported in another thread here that "Online-line" features have improved greatly.

The resort room assigner(s) make the room assignments 4-5 days before your scheduled arrival so you will want to have any requests noted on your reservation before that time frame. Also note that you should prioritize your requests from most important to least important. This will help the room assigner(s) figure out what you are requesting.
