Calling for June AP rates

We're going to wdw in mid-June and the wait for AP rates is irritating me (along with a few other people here!) I called again today to check for new announcements and the CM was very rude. She interrupted me to tell me no new dates had been released. When I asked how she could know that without checking, she told me she had already answered the same question several times this morning. She got nicer as we chatted and said she expects the rates to be released soon.

So many people here have written about buying their AP in anticipation of the discount and then being disappointed when their dates weren't covered that I'm not willing to purchase until I'm sure it will work.

How much longer do you think we're going to have to wait?

They have been saying soon for 2 months, when I call. I had used tickets this year I think I may have saved money with the 35% to 40% discounts.

Thanks for the update. I'm probably reading too much into it, but for a CM who is obviously tired of reiterating to callers that there aren't any new releases, I would think for her to say she expects new rates to be released soon, is a good sign. I mean telling people this will only encourage them to keep calling often. So why say it, unless it's true? Right?

Ummm, that's what I'm going with.:rolleyes1

On today's call to see if anything had been released, the CM seemed to have no idea what I was talking about. She was friendly and eventually confirmed that the current rates are only good through 6/2. She barely seemed to understand the concept of an AP, much less the potential discounts. She encouraged me to call back soon.

Can't see what tomorrow's call will bring!

I made my daily call today and (as you already know), nothing new on the AP front. This time the CM I spoke with was upbeat and helpful. A change from a few days ago for those of you who remember my post.

This CM hypothesized that he expected to see something on or around 4/25 since that was the first date of travel for the recently expired offer. He encouraged me to call back to make sure I didn't miss anything.

At this point it's a matter of curiosity. What's your best guess for when we'll see AP discounts announced past June 2nd?

Thanks,

I can't imagine wasting time on a daily call... and no wonder the CMs get grumpy! Just check the AP website, or just about any WDW discussion board, and you can find out when rates come out. I always manage to find out the same day they come out, it's all over the internet.

I too am waiting for the June AP rates. We have booked a week in June already with the room only discount, but are hoping to rebook at a better rate.

My guess, is that the new AP discounts might come out the week of 4/25. This is Easter week, so maybe the day after Easter?

I check online every day. Hoping to see an AP rate for June really soon!

While I agree those are all viable options to find discounts, and I've used them myself, so is calling central reservations.
After all, it is THEIR JOB to answer questions posed by potential WDW visitors. They should be able to do so in a polite manner, no matter how many times they've heard the question previously. It comes with the territory. There's no reason to be rude.

Agree! The recording says "what can we help you with - it can be ANY NUMBER of things..." They know people call that number with every question about a WDW vacation and are fine with it.

I don't understand why people find it necessary to judge others and post a negative opinion directed to a poster. I can't believe people waste time on posts like that - no wonder WE get grumpy on here. :upsidedow

I'm not yet an AP holder so checking the website isn't an option. As mentioned by other posters, I have a question that Disney is suited to answer.

Thanks to all of you who responded! While continuing to await announcements regarding summer AP rates, I intend to call wdw every morning and report it here. Perhaps someone looking for the same information will benefit from my research. Naturally I'll rely on all of you to do the same!

Thank you, Julie. I'm waiting for the AP rates myself and will post the minute I hear anything.

:)

Just wanted to say thanks for your update everyday :). I am checking back here waiting for June AP rates myself.

I'm waiting too Julie! I haven't purchased my AP yet, so this thread will be very helpful! thanks :)

Just checked the website...nothing again...:sad2:

I'm really hoping tomorrow is the day. I've counted the days and tomorrow is the 45 day mark from June 3rd. If you have a package booked, aren't you penalized if the total package price decreases within the 45 day mark? I would think (hope) Disney wouldn't cause penalties to guests because they choose not to release A/P rates in ample time. But I am just totaling guessing here. I really want those summer AP rates released.

As has been previously posted by an AP holder, there's nothing for today. I spoke with a CM around 8:00 and she was friendly and at least admitted the fact that she has no idea when we can expect to see something.

I hope the math of the pp holds true and we hear something tomorrow.

It seems with all the questions that one has to answer to speak to a CM, that there's a log of why people are calling.

Thanks for keeping me company!

Just called to check on new AP discounts and, as many of you probably know, nothing beyond June 2nd.

I've become interested in how differently the CMs answer the question. Today the CM was very cordial but offered no speculation regarding release dates. Could be tomorrow, next week or middle of May.

A question I am curious about. For those with access to the AP website, are the rates generally published first thing in the morning or do they pop up in the middle of the day?

One day I'm going to call and the answer will be yes!

Do any of you know if in the past there have been any CR tower rooms available for AP discounts? Thanks!

In the past yes, but also in the past the rates have been out earlier! Usually there are some of each room type at each resort, but who knows this time, who knows what will be left when they decide to give the AP holders the leftovers.
