Ok my friend and I were talking about my upcoming Disney Trip today and she made mention of Tower of Terror 2, I corrected her and said there is no Tower of Terror 2, she insisted that there was and that years ago when she was there that Disney was in the process of building it. She swears they were building it and it was right next to Tower of Terror, I told her she was crazy....so was there ever plans for a Tower of Terror 2 or has the ride been majorly refurbished that maybe she could have mistaken that?

Like maybe that was when Tower Of Tower was Tower Of Terror 2 (like it is TOT4 now)? And maybe say Rockin Rollercoaster being built?

yes that is true!disney went around pouring alot of money into advertising tower of terror 2. and no they did'nt rebuild anything.they just adding more drops into the orginal ride.but the ads made it look like there were building something new.so maybe thats where your friend was mistaken.there is and has only been one tower of terror building.

There have been a number of upgrades to the Tower of Terror since it first opened. There are now four different sequences that the computer picks from. You never know which sequence you will get until it starts. This is where the confusion is coming from regarding TOT and TOT2. As someone posted, it's something like TOT4 right now.

I believe that the ride proggramme currently being used on TOT produces totally random drop sequences within a set period so that even the cm's don't know what is coming next, this provides a different ride every time. It is only being billed as TOT4 as this is the 4th upgrade/change to the system.

Yep, just about every 2 years they make some sort of "change" to the attraction.
Tower of Terror 2 had TWO times the Terror
Tower of Terror 3 had More Terror Pumped Into it (they even changed the sign on World drive and had a Tanker Truck pumping the TERROR into the sign.
Tower of Terror 4 (current version) has random drop sequences, you never know which sequence you will experience, until it's too late (diabolical laugh).......

YEs, it seems as though every time we go(which is every year) there is a new number on the ToT board as you're driving on property. I think the last naumber I remember seeing is 4

It seems like every morning now when I am watching the local news, one of the TOT commercials comes on (that or Mickey Philharmagic or L!M!A! or Mission Space). The tag is "Tower of Terror 4... at the Disney MGM Studios" and it makes a big deal about a 4 on the elevator button. Anyway, there was a TOT 2 several years ago, but like has been said before, it referenced the changes to the ride. I agree with the poster who said maybe she confused the building of Rockin' RollerCoaster with the advertsing of TOT2 at the time. It would be easy to get confused about that I would think.
