Hello! I'm trying to talk my hubby into a pair for our trip to WDW in November. He BRIEFLY (and I mean half a second) tried on a pair of the beach model in the XXL size. He generally wears a 12 (and buys 13 tennis shoes for extra space), but the XXL seemed really big. He suggests that I order the XL, but I'm afraid that it will be too small.

Any feedback, suggestions, etc. you can offer?

DH just got a pair and they seemed huge. But apparently he checked out the Crocs site and read that the fit of the Crocs should go against everything you've ever known about shoe fit. Basically, your foot is only supposed to touch the shoes on the sole and that's it.

You might check out www.crocs.com and read their suggestions on fit.

Shel :)

DH wears 12, and bought XXL Crocs. He's worn them with & without socks. It took him a LONG time to decide to buy a pair - after wearing them for 2 weeks at wdw he's glad he did.

I think they run a little big as well. I finally broke down and tried these things last trip and they really did the trick.

I think I'll shoot for the XXL in the Beach model for my size 12 hubby. I'm afraid the Cayman may be a little too narrow in the toe area. Thanks for all the advise! I always know I can depend on the disboards for help!

I have your husband's problem. My feet are almost too big for one size and much too small for the next size up. The store where I bought my crocs told me to buy the smaller size and soak them in hot water and then put them on for a hour or so. This helps mold the croc to your foot.

I used my dishwasher to do this. I ran a load of dishes with my crocs in there and pulled out the crocs before the drying phase started. They were very pliable, and fit very well now.

tjevans--thanks for the advise! I think I'll try Dillards today and pick up both sizes. I'll let him decide rather than do mail order.

If you wear crocs without socks do your feet sweat? Also if it were to rain at the parks the day you wore them and then your crocs got wet, do your feet slip around inside of them?

Yes! I can only wear my crocs when I'm in a/c because of that. That's also how I don't understand how some people can wear them at WDW, but diff'rent strokes and all that . . .

I went one size smaller without a problem.

Me too - I felt like I had big boat-size feet - if I went with the bigger ones.

I usually wear a 9 - 9.5 .... they only come in 8-9 OR 9-10 ..... the 8-9 works really well. Oh, and Ive done both socks and no socks..

1 - Not really.... maybe a smidge, but actually, not much at all. (I do have the "vented" ones though

2 - No slipping and a sliding.... theyre great shoes!

So how many men wear these shoes? They sound comfortable but I feel like I would look like I am wearing women's shoes!!

::MickeyMo Aren't they kind of like Uggs in the way where you go down the size from what you normally are? Is it a specialty shoe thing or something? Because I'm normally a 5 1/2 6, but my Uggs are a 5. Go figure. ::MinnieMo

I bought some about 6 weeks ago, having had heel pain for years no matter what type of shoe or orthotic I bought. within days I had no more heel pain. That alone makes me don't care what other people think of them. And no they don't look like womens shoes.
Buy them and enjoy the comfort you will get out of them.

I JUST talked my DH into getting a pair a few weeks ago. I have been wearing them since I heard about them here on the Dis and well.. they are pretty much the only shoe I wear anymore. I love my crocs.

DH wears a size 13 shoe, but we got him a size 12 crocs at Dillards a few weeks ago. They fit him just fine. :)

I bought everyone in the family a pair a few months ago in preperation for our trip in December. I bought myself a pair of size 11. By the end of the summer i thought they were getting a little big (no socks, ever).
A read a post on the Dis over the summer about someone microwaving a pair and they shrank. :confused3
Well, I didnt nuke them ,....but I did sit mine in a sink of VERY hot water. They did tighten up a bit. So now, about every two weeks I wash them in a sink of steaming hot water and they are perfect.
These things are so comfortable, I perfer them over sneakers now. But, there are times when shoes or sneakers must be worn...darn it! :earboy2:
