DH and I are going in August without kids for the first time in MANY MANY years. We would like to spend an evening or 2 at Pleasure Island.

Would love any input about the Adventurers Club--sounds like so much fun when I read about it. Any club experiences are welcome!

TIA--

We'll only be TWO MOUSEKETEERS for this trip! :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Can't help sorry but I have another question.

Do you need to be over 21 to get in to Pleasure Island or is it just for some of the clubs? Not a problem for me personally (sadly) but our friends are out there at the same time as us and have a 16 and 17 year old daughter with them - will the girls be allowed into Pleasure Island?

The Adventurer's Club is definitely a "love it" or "hate it" kind of place--not a lot of middle ground. Personally, I love it, I think it's one ot the top attractions on WDW property--it seemlessly blends live entertainment, animatronics, and the famous Disney attention to detail. Words can't really do it justice, and I'd hate to spoil some of the surprises, you just have to experience it personally.

As soon as you arrive, head downstairs (well, maybe take a minute or two to soak it all in). Even if it seems dead when you arrive, give it a few minutes, something will happen soon. If at all possible, catch the "Balderdash Cup" show (around 9:20), and stay until the end of the night for the last show, the "Hoopla". In my opinion, those two are the best, tho all the shows are entertaining.

"Dance" clubs, basically everything except the Adventurer's Club and Comedy Warehouse, are 21 and over only. Under 18 are permitted in Adventurers Club and Comedy Warehouse only if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Thanks!

Another question - Is it still New Year there every night? (It's been a long time since I was there!)

No, they no longer do that anymore. It's been a couple years since they discontinued the midnight festivities.

The Adventurer's Club is a must!!! Everytime I go to Disney I make a point to go to Pleasure Island just for that. You never know what's going to happen...and if you are brave enough, try talking to the staff/entertainment. I visited on Canada Day a few years ago and a few of them broke into an odd slightly out of key rendition of O Canada, it was hilarious. Also go to the Comedy Club it is always a good show! Have a great time.

I love Adventure's Club. My last trip I went from opening to closing... the only one that made through the entire night there. :confused3 There is the main bar area where some things occur but there are different 'shows' that take place all night in either the library, the mask room, or I forget the name of the third room. Each show is different that night so you can stay there for hours and be entertained.

It usually does start off a bit slow but it starts picking up later.
