I came across these wicker lamps in an antique shop. They are from Disneyland in the 1960's. Does anyone know anything about them or where they came from, or recognize them at all? I have a shot of them from the inside, too. They're beautiful.

"Calling all old people..." Yikes! With a subject line like that I am soooo happy to say that I don't recognize those lamps at all! :upsidedow

Did you ask the seller of their history?

I don't recognize them either and I'm in that old person 1960's Disneyland visitor category. I'd think they were something from Main Street..but how does the person selling know they are from there? Are there DL markings or stickers on them?
And speaking of old Disneyland..does anyone remember an association of characters Uncle Bertie and Victoria? I found a couple of very tall frosted glasses with those names and cartoony portraits on them and for some reason thought of DL.

I'm not old either...:lmao: but from the history I have read I know that DL used to sell lots of odd things. They even had a women's underware shop. :confused3 Maybe they sold these lamps there.

I recognize them. When i saw the pic 2 minutes ago, I knew exactly where they came from & had a cool story to tell......

....but since i'm past 50 & it takes me a while to post.....the info & the story has completely slipped my mind. ;)

:lmao:

(note - the OP is allowed to change the thread title. Maybe "Disers who visited Walt's park in the 60s" would sound a little better than "Old People".)

:)

Oh Hound, I just died laughing. If you can bring the memory back on around, ( ;) )I'm waiting on baited breath :lovestruc:goodvibes

I'm pretty sure there are no old people at all this board. I've heard from people of all ages teens-80's, but certainly no old people. :goodvibes

I know I am old but wicker and hobnail are two different things. If the seller thinks they are wicker they may also mean they are from Knott's Berry farm instead of Disneyland.

just a guess but the wicker may refer to the fact these are oil lamps that use a wick.... that would be my best guess.. they r pretty though....

Am I officially on the cusp of getting 'old' because I recognize the Spuds MacKenzie glasses in front of the lamps?;)

I was horrified the day I saw my Happy Days lunch box in an antique store! And then I was kicking myself that I actually used mine and tossed it out to get another lunch box the next year. What was I thinking?

I hope not, because I totally recognized them too! :goodvibes In fact, they made me think about the Spuds MacKenzie stuffed animal I used to have..... hmmm..... I wonder where that went? :confused3:lmao:
