I am seeing crazy news reports about a storm coming in on Thursday...what are you locals hearing? We are coming in about 2 p.m. tomorrow.

We're hearing the same thing. It's supposed to rain tomorrow and Friday, but I don't know if that pertains more to the inland area or all of LA.

It is cloudy here, though.

Yesterday they were talking about a "20 year" storm, but here's the latest:

..STRONG SEPTEMBER STORM FRIDAY AND SATURDAY...

A STRONG PACIFIC STORM FOR SEPTEMBER IS EXPECTED TO MOVE THROUGH SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA LATE FRIDAY AND EARLY SATURDAY. THIS STORM HAS THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE WEATHER RARELY SEEN IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA IN SEPTEMBER. RAIN COULD BEGIN AS EARLY AS THURSDAY WITH SHOWERS INTO FRIDAY BUT THE HEAVIEST PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED FRIDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY SATURDAY MORNING.

So batten down the hatches...

It must be a big storm cuz I live in Northern CA and they are predicting the same thing for here so it sounds like it is going to cover the entire state! In fact it is supposed to roll in tonight and go through tomorrow, Friday and into Saturday!

Snow level is supposed to drop to 6,000 feet, and we might be getting hail here in Santa Clarita according to what I've read. Dress warmly, we will actually be cold (for us anyway) for once.

Aw malarky. It doesn't rain here. My bet is on some drizzle.

The national weather service report is really deceiving too. It covers some burn areas and mountain areas, and it covers the coast, but each will see different things. TStorms will stay in the mountains usually, and flash floods only really affect burn areas (which is no where near DL) because there is no vegitation to absorb and slow down the water. I think we'll be lucky to get any rain, because we do need it, but I doubt it will be a massive storm in Anaheim. Our local news forecast is barely comitting to rain, much less a nasty storm, and only a 20-50% chance of overnight showers at that, mainly Thursday night. I would bring your umbrella and don't cancel any plans, for all we know the storm might stay to the north and never even hit us, that happens all the time because when they make predictions they are focused on the LA Metro area, which is really not where Anaheim is, and half the time we never see the storm that the north end of LA gets.

I'm planning on going to the park Friday night to see Halloween simpy because everyone else will stay home because of the chance of rain!

I like DizneyMommy's report the best and so that is what I am going with. Ha. Ha.
Well we are not cancelling.......this is our first time at GC and I will be there in a poncho and waders if I have to. It is just hard to pack. Yesterday it was forecasted for 75+ degrees with no chance of rain!

I'm from Washington and I'm not laughing. It is nice to get away from rain every now and then.

Usually when they start talking about a big storm I get ready for.......well.........rain. I watch the news and it is flooding in Hollywood and out in the valley and we never get a drop. So I don't know if it is going to rain or not this week.

Sorry I couldn't be of any help but this is California you know.:rotfl:

I'm right there with you Godalejr. It's definitely not summer up here anymore, is it? Our trip to DL is in December and we're hoping for fair weather. We were part of the huge blackout last Winter (eight days without power) and are going to be gone the exact same dates this year. I hope you have a wonderful trip - hopefully the weather will clear and you'll have blue skies for at least part of your stay. On the bright side, if it does rain then crowds should be even less....

Well I am originally from Oregon so that really doesn't mean much. LOL Now I'm in Northern California and as mentioned we are getting the same forecast. And it's cold today!!!!!! Down in the low 70's here. chilly!!!!!! I guess I'll have my sweatshirts ready just in case. :) FYI, it rains a lot in Nor Cal, not quite as much as Oregon or Washington but a lot...rain doesn't scare us away from much! lol

If I was at DL in the rain I wouldn't let it stop me from being in the parks. I might think twice if there was lightning involved (we are forecasted for lightning storms all day) but I would probably still be there wandering around. Just get some ponchos and have fun!!

Oh I know. I'm hoping it's nice when we go down in October. I think what I found funny was mostly what most "non rain places" would consider a major storm, we would probably consider just a regular fall/winter day in the NW. Just interesting other people's perspectives, that's all. :goodvibes

On a related note. The only time I've ever been to DL was when I was 14 and ironically, it poured the entire day. :lmao:

FI is from NorCal and FFIL still lives there. I've been noticing the weather there really isnt much different from what we get up here. Maybe just a little less rain but the temperatures are about the same for this time of year.

Rain, rain dont go away we want to play all day. Rain means less people in the park from what I read. I was in Boston when the biggest storm in 20yrs hit. Now that was a scramble! People running for cover. :scared1: It will all be good, go and enjoy the other side of the weather.

I've been watching the weather closely because I'm going on Saturday. For LA on the news last night it said possible rain today (no rain in my area of the SF Valley yet), more of a chance tomorrow, and then same chance as today for rain on Friday, and then overcast on Saturday (which will probably break up midday). All in all I wouldn't be worried at all, but you probably will want to wear a jacket in the morning and at night (make sure it has a hood just in case). Yay for fall-ish weather just in time for the beginning of Mickey's Halloweentime!

According to the local forecasts, it's supposed to rain tommorow, and I actually believe them for once... Today was a LOT colder than usual, and when I was in the parks, it actually drizzled a couple times.. For twenty seconds at a time, but still something....?

I just had to say Hi Neighbor!!!!! I am out in Lancaster so I had to say Hi!

I also wanted to add I am a bit happy I am putting off Disney until next week and still hoping for clear enough skies for my event in Ojai this weekend.

But for those who are going work with the crowds if it rains, it will scare most people away and keep many away even if the skies are icky in Anaheim or even just further out. Its Disneyland you can have fun no matter what the weather!

Are you supposed to get any snow this time around in Lancaster?

No thank goodness we aren't expected to get that cold. We are pretty low elevation in the sceme of things. But I do hope we do get some snow this year!
