Calling all FW historians...

This is a picture of my brother and me the first time we camped at FW, March 1973. (Ignore the date- my scanner was inop. at the time and I took a digital of my old picture and forgot to turn off the date.)

Anyway, I was back at the Ft. in 2004 when my brother and sister camped there and did not see it. When did it go and what'd they do with it?

Im taking a guess but probably some time in the 90's it got taken out.

I don't know the answer, but that's pretty cool. I wonder if it was really a piece of tree trunk, or an "Imagineered" tree trunk.

Well, that's a good question. Of course as a kid I knew it was real (camped there at ages 6 & 8) Now... not so sure. There was another one at the check-in gate- or maybe this was just the backside of this one. I'll try to find that picture and post it as well.
