calling all flying experts - will the prices ever come down?

Looking for flights from 3-14-08 to 3-21-08. Flights have really gone up this past week, over $300.00....

I am getting a little nervous..

Do you think that this pricing will ever go down? I am not an expert at buying flights by any means. I think I just need reassurance that it is okay to wait.......

You're flying right during spring break time. Since this is a popular travel time you're most likely not going to find great airfare. Its all about supply and demand and demand for spring break times is high. The airlines know that people travel during this time and they can get more $$. I can fly from our local airport during non-spring break times for about $150/rt. If I go during spring break I always end up paying double that.

It's possible to get a cheaper flight when Southwest comes out with their flights, but I booked Midwest to MCO for Spring Break about 2 months ago. The price of the flight has more than doubled since then.

When Southwest releases their flights, some of the other lines will bring their prices down to compete.
