Calling all Floridians...

.....or just some one who vacations there.

We usually go to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for two weeks every May but this year we've decided to go with warmer weather . We are looking at the Gulf coast. Maybe Siesta Key or vicinity. Anybody have any input?

Siesta key is very nice. I would recommend it.

What about Sanibel Island? They just got voted in the top ten for most romantic beaches .
It is a nice family friendly area.

Yup and Sanibel is full of beautiful shells It's a very natural island. You won't find high rises, department stores, fast food chains or any of that.

Siesta Key is beautiful too. Anna Maria Island, even Clearwater has beautiful beaches if you want a more touristy place.

How about Fort Meyers beach? There's a condo there that I found but it's cheaper than the other areas I've been looking at. (Siesta Key, Sanibel) Is that because it's not as nice there?

sanibel island, sand destin, key west, laguna beach, ponde verda beach(jacksonville area), just to name a few

Well, FMB is very nice but not like the rest of your choices. Water is shallow, more touristy. I certainly could do a beach vacation there if I lived up north.
I personally like being able to walk up to a restaurant to get a drink or go to a gift shop.
I live about 3 miles from either FMB or Sanibel, so I guess I have the best of both worlds
What is the name of the condo on FMB?
