Calling All Experts--MK Plans

Just need opinions from all you experts. We will be at WDW the week before Memorial Day. Which would be the best days for touring the MK?? I know what all the books, etc. say, but feel that things would be different for this week due to the holiday. We will be staying offsite. Thanks for your opinions!

Since you are staying off site, I would go to the MK as early in the week as possible and avoid the EMH days (Thursday and Sunday) . The closer you get to the holiday weekend, the more imperative it will be to arrive when the parks open to avoid any crowds and long lines.

I always shoot for the Magic Kingdom on Tuesday through Thursday. Friday isn't the worst but the park tends to get busy after 3:00 PM. Saturday and Sunday are always busy and Monday seems to be when everybody goes to avoid the weekend crowd.

My experience is usually in peak or moderate seaons, YMMV.

One thing to note: Wed that week 5/26, they are having a private Wishes event for the DVC Member Homecoming beginning at 8:30. I'm going this week, to, and I am trying to figure out which days to go to the parks (only doing 2 or 3 days this trip). I cna't find out for sure if this event means the whole park is closing early or not because WDW website still shows it open til 9 PM.

Anyway, I am leaning towards going Monday 5/24 to MK. It's the day after EMH, so that's supposed to be a good day to go. Tuesday 5/25 is EMH, and also Epcot is closing early to host a private Illuminations party for the Member Homecoming, so MK and MGM are open late. My plan for Tuesday is to start out at Epcot, leave for a break and head over to MGM later in the day. Hope to hit ToT and RnRC several times while everyone else is at the first Fantasmic, and then go to the second Fantasmic at 10:30.
