You know who you are!
Do any of you bring coffee presses to the hotel?
We are staying at the Red Lion and it has a microwave, I can heat water in that, and make my own expresso every morning, since their is not a coffee house close by...
Feel free to tell me I've lost it!:dance3::dance3:

I don't do that, but no matter where we stay, I get up extra early and make a Starbucks run every morning. The coffee at DLR just won't do for me!

You are not crazy!

Well then, I guess I have lost it too!!!! :lmao:

I drink Costa Rican coffee and I usually carry it around, if we travel by car, I bring our small coffee maker and tons of half and half.

I can have any other coffee any other time of a day, but don't mess with my coffee in the morning!! :drinking1

Nah, not crazy at all! If you like to make your own espresso in the morning then that sounds like a great idea :goodvibes

Thanks! Nice to know I'm not alone!
Gotta have GOOD coffee to start the day, then I will hit the Gibson Girl later on for my Cinnemon Roll and coffee!:banana::banana:

We bring our own coffee maker and creamer! I have a coffee maker that brews directly into 2 travel mugs (or a pot) and we use those everyday! We bring them into the park and leave them in our stroller when they are empty. It is a real life saver since coffee is hard to come by in Downtown disney and the parks!

Here, Here!!!!We also bring our own coffee brand and maker, we like a strong delicious coffee in the morning and other coffee places around like starbucks and others just aren't good enough!!!Way overrated..

The coffee at DLR has long had a reputation for tasting like swill. We like strong dark coffee. What they serve tastes like dirty water. We found some decent coffee at LaBrea Bakery where they brew with Starbucks coffee. Loved the CCI but the coffee there was awful too. So I mixed it with their hot chocolate to improve the taste. I think next time I would bring those Starbucks instant packs (Via) and mix with hot water.

I also don't like cream or half and half with coffee so I bring powdered creamer which I think tastes better.

I work at a Starbucks and deal with lots of crazy coffee fanatics everyday so you seem pretty normal to me lol (weird thing is...i dont even like coffee )

Starbucks in walking distance, Tommy?
I don't wanna take out the car every morning...

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I'm not a coffee drinker but I have two comments on this.

One: my mom does drink coffee and we're continually surprised at the unavailability of good stuff at DL. They do everything else so well but drop the ball on coffee. Makes no sense.

Two: I *am* a tea drinker and we always bring our own tea to the park :-). So, in that sense, you're not alone.

Going to DL next week for three whole days! Woo hoo!

I always bring a ziplock bag of our own ground Starbucks coffee. I also have small basket filters that I bring ( and keep for every trip) as those fit in "most" hotel coffee makers. Doesn't the RedLion have coffee makers? - or are you set on espresso?

I also carry the Starbucks Via instant packs with us (cheaper to buy at Costco) for good coffee in a pinch.

My wife is the coffee drinker (read: snob) of the family, though I'm the one who ends up making it for her 1/2 the time. She travels nowhere without her Aeropress, a bunch of filters, and a baggie of coffee that we grind just before we leave. Especially to Disney, where as Budgie notes, the coffee is largely swill. She (DW) swears by the Aeropress. As for me, I believe in the old saying, "when Momma's happy, everyone's happy!"

I bring my own "coffee box" with my own coffee maker, coffee, and favorite mug. Life is too short to drink bad coffee.

I Love you ALL!!:surfweb:
Lets hear it for the coffee SNOBS:thumbsup2

Bob: what's a Areopress? Is it different than a regular press?

Thanks Everybody!! Keep it coming! I love reading your stories!:surfweb:

I've also traveled with Via instant packs, and really they aren't bad. My MIL doesn't even own a coffee maker so when we visit her I bring a weeks worth along and while it's not quite the same as fresh, it's far superior to no coffee at all. While coffee at DLR isn't a problem for me (the hotel we stay at includes Starbucks in the room!) if it were an issue, I'd use Via instant and be content.

The Via packs are good, but I like French Roast ( in the morning ), and they don't have it yet in the packs yet. Maybe they will soon! I agree it's better than no coffee at all!

The Wikipedia page is here. You can buy one at Amazon.com here, or at a number of retailers.

I'm not a coffee drinker, but according to DW, the resulting coffee is a lot less acidic - she has a hard time going back to brewed coffee now.

The manufacturer claims that it produces expresso, which you can then water down to get regular coffee. My DW drinks it strong - almost all Aeorpress, with just a touch of additional hot water. I don't think it's really expresso-strength, but it can definitely be brewed much stronger than your normal coffee.

HTH,
Bob
