I know you're out there...how else would the World get so crowded this time of year? Sing out when and where you're going, and how you plan on handling the craziest time of year (not to mention the most fantastic!). Personally, I'm pampering myself with the best resort I can afford (SSR 2BDRM Villa), and PSing and planning the heck out of the week, with the plan that if it gets too, TOO mad out there, my resort and DTD will be something of a sanctuary. Also, anyone else planning on the Candlelight Processional? We're landing Christmas afternoon, so would love to see it on THE DAY, but don't know if it traditionally runs on Christmas Day. Any thoughts?

The CP runs every day from the day after Thanksgiving through at least New Years day.

Do you know if they have the CP dinner package on Christmas day, too? I was hoping to get a PS for Le Cellier and CP afterwards.

Yup, this is our third "crackpot" trip at Christmas and we can't wait! Yes, it's packed, yes, lines are horrendous but there's a special magic you just can't explain! There's always something fun going on. Hope you have a really special time!

I have seen people post that they got a CP packgake on christmas eve and christmas day. Unfortunatly i wontbe able to go at christmas but i am hopign to get there between thanksgiving and christmas

DH & I wer3e one of those "CRACKPOTS" This past Christmas. Our first Christmas trip...and BOY was it CROWDED!!! But ya know what....we said we would do it all over again!!!! :rotfl:

You are right Cmadsen...there is just something about the special magic that is not explainable. What a MAGICAL time.

What was great for us it that we have been there sooooo much, that we didn't feel the need to do every ride. WE chose our favorites & did them, but we enjoyed the atmosphere, decorations, special parades etc!

Can't wait to do it again! ::yes:: :upsidedow :goodvibes

I'm hoping to book an Illuminations cruise for Christmas week, too, so as soon as that opens up, check the Illuminations thread...I'm sure I'll either be posting to offer up spaces or to beg them! There'll be 5 of us, so if there's 5 of you....

I actually am going to attempt to plan a surprise trip for Christmas for my mom this year. We haven't been since at Christmas since 1994! It's my moms favorite time of year there and would get me off the hook for a Christmas gift! lol

It gets crazy around christmas time, but just think- at least its not crowed AND 100 degrees out! That's one positive. The decorations are also really beautiful and you can't beat the snow on main. st. and the characters in their x-mas outfits!

We'll be there again, staying at a home in Windsor Palms and meeting up with my brother's family from California. We did this two years ago, and thankfully, I'm not feeling as much pressure to make it perfect this time. Will probably do Candlelight Processional because I love it and just a couple PS.

Count in another crackpot family. We are staying at the house in WP we have rented several times before and am very excited. OK so you can't move by 10 AM and lines for attractions are listed at 180 minutes wait.....it is better than the snow and yuck. It is magical and we will be there for 13 maybe14 glorius nights after arriving Christmas Day! Going to do CP, I love it and walk on Main Street when it is snowing and some PS, not as many as last time though! Ugh, I think we gained weight, lol. :wizard:

We're a crackpot family of 12 already planning for Christmas 2006 trip! We'll be staying at Pop for 8 nights leaving the day after Christmas. I've never been to the World in late December. We used to traditionally go the week of and/or after Thanksgiving so we have seen the Christmas decor, but I have a question.
For 6 of our family members this will be their very 1st trip. How horrible are the crowds. Will it be at capacity every day?! in every park?! They all know I'm a disney addict and I am doing all the planning for the trip. Would hate it if their first trip is frustrating because of crowds.
Wonderful father-in-law is paying for our whole trip as his Christmas gift to us - should I try to talk him into going the week after Thanksgiving instead? :worried:

My DH and D (18) and I will be at the Dolphin from 12/20-12/27! I'm very excited...I have wanted to be there at Christmas for years and they've finally decided they want to, too! :teeth:

We only plan to do 3 or 4 "park days" on this trip....and I'm wondering if the parks will be any less crowded at the beginning of the trip? (But I really don't care ;) )

Another crackpot here too. We are staying at the BCV from December 21st - January 2nd. We are already planned, just waiting for the 90 day window to book the back stage tours (we plan to do the backstage magic and the segway tour) and the PS arrangements. We are also going to book the candlelight processional package. Although we have decided where we will go eaqch day and where we will eat we are taking the day as it comes. We only have a couple of must do things in each park so the rest is a bonus. On Christmas day we plan to just relax around the BC and have our christmas dinner at Cape May. I know the place will be packed whilst we are there but I still can't wait to go.

Thanks for the reminder about the characters in their Christmas clothes. I had almost forgotten about that.

You said you're planning for 2006. Christmas Day will be on Monday next year. If you're going to be there for the full week before that, the crowds are traditionally low on that Mon & Tues - building up each day - but still quite manageable until at least the Friday before Christmas. We'll be in Florida this year (staying offsite), arriving Dec. 18th and leaving on New Year's Day. We're planning to do all of our Disneying during that first week - and then go to SeaWorld and possibly Cypress Gardens when WDW gets too crowded. We did that in 2000 and we had a blast! We're also staying in a lovely private villa with its own heated swimming pool - (WAY more luxurious than any of our real homes) - so spending time there will be a fun part of our vacation.

We will be making our 2nd trip this Christmas (arriving Dec.25 to ?). Our first was in 2003 (Dec. 23-27), it was a surprise trip for 3 of the 6 of us and turned out awesome! Like others have said, there is a certain magic at Christmas time at WDW.
Smiles,
Diane =0)

I've done Christmas before, back in 1996, and had a wonderful time. That was BEFORE I knew about the DIS, and the Unofficial Guide, and PS's and all the great things, other than the parks, there are to see and do. The crowds were elbow to elbow, MK was closed to any more admissions by 10am every day, but STILL was able to have a fantastic time! That was BEFORE Fastpass, too! Weather was "to die for"! So, THIS time, with all the PS's for dinners and shows, and a fancier resort (SSR) than Ft. Wilderness cabins, I expect to have even MORE fun!
