Hi all-

Paint- Happy birthday to you!! Sounds like you are busy working today, but hope you have a good b-day!
Hope you don't mind a Sponge Bob b-day cake.

Hi all again-

Slo- glad all went well with your 4th of July party yest :)

disneygal- glad you enjoyed Jersey Boys :thumbsup2
I haven't gone to see it yet, would love to go see it sometime, if we ever buy tickets- without the kids.

Mac- sorry to hear about the shootings near Grant Park on Thurs night. Glad your DS wasn't there when it happened.

Hi to Tiggerrn and everyone else :wave2:

Went to a local festival last night to see a Paul McCartney and Wings
tribute band. They were pretty good :thumbsup2 The lead guy that plays Paul is from the Chicago area, but he was talking in a fake English accent, which cracked DH and I up :rotfl2: The band did part McCartney and Wings songs and part Beatle songs. Then we stayed for the fireworks.
Matthew enjoyed the music.

Have a good day everyone!

happy saturday chicagoland homies.

busy day of doing nothing for me.

can you believe this weather?

it is so nice now and will be back down to the 50's tonight.
so cold last night i had to get the blankets out for our bed.

once the sun goes down, the beautiful temps go with it.

don't worry about sunday you all. will be going to church and have your backs covered for the week.

and of course i will come back to post to our birthday girl here!

Talked to Hersey a couple times in the past couple days while she's been at WDW! They are having a great time! In fact they had just eaten at Yak and Yeti when we spoke today. They really liked it!! I can't wait to try it myself!!! :)

paint We just spent $80 today on Gi pants and t-shirts (one's with the name of the martial arts place the kids attend). :sad2:
The kids will be apart of a demonstration at Proud American Days in New Lenox at the end of the month. So we needed to buy the clothes for them to participate. If they hadn't, then I wouldn't needed to buy them till the kids go to the next level.

Have a great b-day tomorrow!!!! :cool1: :yay: :woohoo:
Eat some :cake: for me!!!....or anything sweet for that matter. Sorry you have to work though....it's just one more downfall of having to be an adult.

irish dancer We're looking forward to seeing the AG movie!! DD has been reading all the Kit books and wants to finish them before we go see the movie!! :goodvibes

mac Glad your son missed all the violence.

slo I hope the chiropractor helps!!! :thumbsup2
I hope you enjoyed being a minister at church tonight! How did it go?

it is sunday !!

newly declared paint day on the chi town thread.

now tell us how tasty that cake was.....

happy bday paint

Thanks for the bday wishes, guys!:goodvibes The Spongebob cake looks yummy, Rose. I love sprinkles! And, Mac, a virtual cake is about the only one I should indulge in...let's just say I've been a little lax since the wedding!:scared:
Yesterday was a pretty good day. I worked for a bit. It has been a slow weekend there, but it has given me a chance to get to know people and "bond" which is important, too. Then, dh and I went out to dinner and did a little shopping. When I got home, I had two bday cards in he mail (with a check and a gc- even better!) and my WDW travel docs! Yay! I am getting so excited! It has been alomst two years since I've been (which might make me sound like a spoiled brat in the real world, but not on the dis- my peeps understand!).
bunchkin- We have a res for Yak and YEti but were considering changing it to Capt. JAcks bc BIL raves about it.:confused3 Oh, and I am not an adult- I refuse!
slo- How'd the clean up go? My kitchen floor is constantly a mess. The kids think the backdoor is a revolving door they need to go in and out of 100 times a day. I also catch them with their shoes on the carpet, then, too. I've threatened to lock it!
Okay, going to enjoy my coffee (coconut creme fro Gloria Jeans) and Dis a bit before work! LAter!

We have been having such awesome weather lately!!! :sunny:
It's been totally awesome, that we've been able to fully enjoy it too :) Yesterday I took a 6 mile walk in the morning, and then I sat in the pool for the rest of the afternoon before I went to church - what a great day!!!!

Today we are staying home again, and enjoying some more pool time :cool1: My tan is coming along quite nicely, and I want to keep it getting darker. I'm so pale normally, that I love it when I have some color. :teeth:

I really enjoyed being an Extrodinary Minister of Holy Communion last night:) It was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be (I was a little nervous). I found out yesterday that I will be lectoring next weekend, so I need to start practicing my readings during the week. I'm a little nervous about that too, but I know I will do okay :thumbsup2

DG - There's a lot of dog activity by you lately. Have they been behaving themselves :dog:

Rose - I"m glad you had a nice at the festival :)

Mac - :wave2:

Bunchkin - Thanks for letting us know HERSEY is having a great time :cool1:

paint - Happy Birthday!!!! :cake:
I hope you have a wonderful birthday today!!!!

Well, I gotta run and get this day started
Have a wonderful day today everyone!!

good sunday morning on paint birthday chicagoland homies.

off to church soon.
will have your backs covered for the week.

I found out yesterday that I will be lectoring next weekend, so I need to start practicing my readings during the week. I'm a little nervous about that too, but I know I will do okay

The trick is to try not to think about those hundreds of parishioners that are all sitting there with their attention focused just on you, staring you down. :thumbsup2 :rolleyes1

Seriously, I'm sure you'll do wonderfully! :) :goodvibes

Happy 4th of July weekend to all!!!

And, an extra special wish for a happy birthday to PAINT....

I hope everyone had a great holiday, and got to spend some time doing the things they like the best with people they care about the most!!!

Have a good week ahead!:goodvibes

Hi guys! Wow, this has seemed like the longest weekend, I LOVE it :thumbsup2 . We saw fireworks Thurs and Friday and then went to Rib Fest Saturday. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts were playing Sat night but we didn't stay, just stuffed ourselves with ribs and pulled pork and rolled out of there. Man, I'm going to need to do some extra walking this week to make up for this weekend.:rolleyes1

We went to see Kung Fu Panda this morning and it was great. DH went to his guitar lesson at the Old Town School of Folk Music this afternoon and then we had dinner at the in-laws as we do every Sunday.

slo - hope all goes well tomorrow at the chiropractor and that she/he can relieve your headaches.
*Don't worry too much about lectoring, I'm sure you'll do great. When I did it I wouldn't really make eye contact with anyone, just looked out over their heads.

mac - I love when it's warm during the day and then cools off at night. It's been great having the windows open.

paint - Happy Birthday!!! Hope you had a great day!
*I totally hear you on the revolving door, I actually did lock the door the other day after DD11 came in and out around 15 times within an hour. The other problem with the in/out is that they leave the door open most of the time which is a problem when the air is on!

Bunchkin - glad to hear Hersey is having a great time, hopefully it's not too hot down there now.

Well, I'm off to get ready for the week ahead (and clean up a bit from the weekend). DS has day camp tomorrow and then he and DD6 have their annual check-ups and both will need a shot so that will be no fun. Hopefully you won't hear their screams throughout Chicago

Have a great night everyone!

Back to the ol' grind stone today
It's been so nice, for the last 3 days, to not wake up to an alarm. I'm sure you all can agree ::yes::

Yesterday was fabulous!!!!
We were outside all day, and got alot of sun :sunny:
I just love love love summer!!!!!:cool1:

paint - Did you have a good birthday yesterday?
**The clean-up went well. It felt so good to have the house back to normal.:thumbsup2

Mac - Thanks for the listings :)

Crissup - Thanks!!!!:)

Donna - Do you and Marc have any trips planned soon? You two always have nice get-aways that you do:goodvibes

ID - Thanks!!!!:) I figured I would just look over their heads too ::yes::

Well, I gotta get outside and do my 2 mile walk (it's the only distance I can do without getting a splitting headache :headache: ) and than get in the shower. Have a great day today everyone!!!

Slo- Six miles the other day? Impressive! Yesterday was the first day I did some actual cardio...walked a few miles and later did the elliptical at the gym. I've been taking it easy with the knee, but so far, so good!
ID- Hope the shots go okay. DD starts crying before they even come in the room! I tell her to save it for when they actually give her the shot!

Thanks for all the bday wishes! It was very uneventful...I got to wait of my first table at work! Wow! It went well, though. Later, dh and I went to Noodles and Company for dinner and picked up some groceries. For some crazy reason, rather than going out to dinner with my parents (like my mom offered) I thought it would be a better idea for them to come to my house for dinner. So...I bought groceries, cleaned house last night (more for today!), baked a cake, and will prep and clean up dinner. Poorly thought out plan on my part!!!
Today I have my server final. I have to wait on the manager. He is very strict I all night I had "Groundhog Day"- like dreams...I just kept being his server over and over again! Ack!
Wish me luck!:)

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend! Unfortunately, this is just a swing by HI! So I hope everyone has a wonderful day! :goodvibes

Evening all!! Busy, but fun, weekend. We had my mom's 75th Birthday party and had the whole family together. I found water shooters at the dollar store and bought some for all the kids. They had a blast. We were at my brother's. He has horses and a big barn/hay loft. All the kids were climbing in the hay and playing tag. It is so fun to get all the young cousins together. That is so hard to do with everyone's busy schedules, but they really enjoyed themselves.
Slo, hope you have a good day with the chiro. Sure seems they should be able to get to the bottom of your headache troubles.:confused3
Paint, Happy Birthday!!! Hope it was a good one. Good luck with serving the meanager tomorrow.
Bunchkin, it was so great to see you all again. We enjoyed the movie, too!!! We should try a get together for a play date. You are welcomed to come here if you would like. The kids could swim/wade in our 3 1/2 foot pool and we could wander down the street to the park for a picnic. Kyle would really like a play date with Hunter once again and Kellie with Lauren without being little brother bothered.
Hersey, hope you are enjoying that vacation.
Mac, how are you doing today? The knees feeling any better?
Rose, disneygal, piglet, and everyone :flower3: hope you are all doing well.
Night all.

:surfweb:

Thanks to all that asked about my chiropractor appointment. Things went well, and he's thinking he will be able to help me with my troubles. I have issues with my spine, which I already knew (I've been having issues with my spine since forever) and he's thinking he can help with readjustment. He did do an adjustment last night, and my neck cracked alot - made me laugh:rotfl: I go back on Wednesday morning, and he wants me to do a heavy workout that morning, so we can see how I feel when I get an adjustment after I workout - so we'll see what happens - I'm a little nervous, because I need to work that night, and I can't afford to feel poorly:sad2: But I can understand why he wants me to do this.

paint - Yeah, I like walking far distance ::yes:: My goal is to walk the Disney marathon someday, so I need to slowly start training now (unless we can't solve this headache issue). I need to get a walk belt that holds bottled water, because I was getting thirsty during that long walk.
**How did your server final go? I hope it went well :wizard:

DG - :wave2:

Tiiigggggeeernn - That's great that you had so much fun celebrating your mom's 75th birthday:banana:
**What movie did you guys see?

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work
We need to leave early today, because Stephanie has a field trip to Haunted Trails. For all that don't know what that is, it's sorta like a Chucky Cheese, and it's up by Midway Airport.

Have a good day!!!

Haunted Trails. For all that don't know what that is, it's sorta like a Chucky Cheese, and it's up by Midway Airport.

I know they have one in Joliet on Broadway St. (Rt.53). Is there one up near Midway Airport also? My company had their company party there last month. I play the games, then hand all my winning tickets to the next kid that passes by. :rotfl:

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: is it bad I had a dream about the Dis last night! It was weird! Anywho, I made my first purchase for the wedding last week and it arrived yesterday! Woohoo, except no one was home to sign for it so I need to go pick it up from the Post Office! I'm excited, it's a cake topper! I'll post a pic of it as soon as I can!

Slo ~ I also would love to do the Disney marathon! :goodvibes Although, I don't run so I'd have to walk it! Do you know when you want to do it by? I'm glad to hear your chiropractor appointment went well! Hopefully, it will clear up your headaches and all will be well! :wizard:

Paint ~ I can't believe I missed wishing you a wonderful b-day:confused3 I'm sorry. I don't know what I was thinking! Well, I hope your day way wonderful! Also, I hope your server final went well :wizard:

Everyone else ~ :wave2: hope you all have wonderful days!
