Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: today is my last day of the work week! WooHoo for 4 day weekends! My dad and I are going to see Jersey Boys tonight! I'm super excited! We are both fans of the Four Seasons so I'm sure we will enjoy it! I bought him the soundtrack as part of his Father's Day gift!

Slo ~ Good Luck with the doctor. :wizard: Maybe he can get you something else. I've had to do that. I'm sorry you aren't feeling well still!

Paint ~ Wedding plans are coming along. I found a couple of dresses I really like online but am too nervous to go to the store to try them on b/c I still have so much time. :confused3 The house hunt is currently on hold unfortunately. We are going to try and save up a nice deposit!

Sam ~ I have to say your story about losing your car made me smile! I lose my car in the parking lot at the train station and that is probably 1/16 of the size of a Disney Parking lot. I could only imagine what would happen if I drove to the park!:lmao:

Well, have a good day everyone! It's a beautiful day out! :flower3:

dgal- Have you looked at David's? I really like that you get to try on your dress in your size (for the most part). I also like that they aren't overly pushy. I went to one bridal store and they brought me dresses from the back they thought I'd like. Wasn't fond of that! I like to browse myself and have help available.
slo- Hope you feel better soon. Stinks that what is supposed to be helping you is making you feel worse!
sam- Dh was looking on that website last night- wish I'd seen it before the movie so I could've looked for the hidden treasures!

Well, since chatting with my WDW freak sister and BIL, I can't wait for my trip. It is so close and yet so far. I am also worrying about the after trip let down already, too! I got my ME papers and tags yesterday and am listening to Live 365. IT is the music from Adventureland. I also need to go to a DIsney Store and pick up some new stuff. My antenna topper got broken when they decorated my car after the wedding (balloons battered Mickey's ear off!) and now I can't find my car in the lot!
Okay. Better get dressed for work. I am finally "server training" today and then on Sat. and Sun. I get a crack at serving while being observed!
Later!

Hi peoples!!!

slo Sorry the new meds are not working out for you. :sad1: I sure hope there is something the doctor can do to help you but not have you too "drugged out". :sad2: Hope you got your house cleaned. I've been cleaning so much lately that it seems that is all I do!!

paint Hopefully all that training will be over soon so they can let you loose on your own!
That was nice of your DH to just happen to have a mouth full of bread when it was your turn to kiss!!! :lmao:

Sam Glad you had a nice vacay!! Too bad about loosing the rental car though! Ugh!!

disneygal I saw something this weekend that made me think of you.
While at the graduation party for our next door neighbor's daughter, I spied a really cool 'Save The Date Magnet' on his fridge!!!!!!!! What a great idea...a magnet to keep on the fridge to be a reminder! It was a rectangle shape magnet with 4 pictures of the couple. It was a vertical shaped magent. The pics were taken at Millenium park, they were so cute. Inbetween each pic were the words 'Save The Date' and the actual date of the wedding. At the bottom was their names, the wedding date and a statement that a formal invite was to follow in the near future. The magnet itself was black and the pics were black and white. I think if you are having a Disney wedding you could do the same thing with any pics that you might have had taken with you and your DF while at WDW. That would be a really cute 'Save The Date Magnet'!!!:thumbsup2
Just thought I'd share that!
Have fun at the Jersey Boys!

Afternoon everyone.
Thought I would grill out this evening, but it is a little breezey. Not sure if I can get it in before the rain showers come. Bought some Brats and Chops. (Kids don't like Brats)
disneygal, I love the save the date idea Bunchkin had. We have had those a couple of times. Actually, Disney will send some letters out for you ahead of time for Save the Dates. But that is probably after you can make all your decisions on what type of wedding you are having.
Just wanted to check in.
Slo, what meds did the MD put you on? I find the best concoction for headaches (and I get migraines) that won't knock me out and won't give me heart palpatations is: 2 X-strength Tylenol, with 2 enteric coated aspirin (to keep my stomache from upsetting) and drink them with a diet Coke. I cannot take those excedrin migraine meds (causes me to feel awful- jittery and just plain yucky) and Rx meds make me too sleepy and feel like I am always dragging. Hope you come up with something soon and feel better.
Paint, hope you have fun doing your new job. LOL
Bunchkin, any chance for Wall-E tomorrow?
Well, I had better run. :laundy: Always this.
Later all.

slo and mac- I think I need duct tape. I suffered a knee injury that almost had me in the ER after the rehearsal. The worst part was I don't even know what happened! It is a bit better but I am taking it easy on the exercise this week, especially since I have to work.

tell me about your knee.
have you seen a doc yet for it?

is your knee swollen and make noises when you try to walk??

slo, refresh my memory on your knee problems.

the reason i ask is i went to the doc 10 days ago as my knee became swollen and hard to walk. he told me to wear a knee brace as he feels it is a pulled ligment that i have. he said the fluid on the knee could be i have a meniciuos or how ever it is spelled, tear.

so i have had to stop all walking, running, curves, stairs, (yea, right, i live in a quad level house)
i am having the MRI done tomorrow afternoon.

believe it or not, i am using blue duct tape on my brace.

i do the wrap on the three support straps and then blue duct tape it to make it look prettier.

yes, duct tape works well on all things. as long as i don't get that tape on my leg, i'm good with it. besides, you don't know if it is knee pain or pain - pain if you have to rip the duct tape off and it really is attached to the skin on your leg..i don't know how people do waxings on their legs....that stuff hurts if you have to pull it off of skin....

give me a heads up of what diagnosis you both had and how it got better please.

i'm tired of sitting down all day watching my house go down the tubes.
it's really gotten dirty since i'm not scrubbing and cleaning.

mac- That sounds just like mine! When we were riding up to the rehearsal dinner, my knee was killing me, but I could make it feel better by holding onto it and kind of stabilizing it, if that makes sense. Later, I got the brace, motrin, ice, and two glasses of wine! The next day was the wedding, so I really couldn't stay off of it. It is much better, but I tried the gym today...the bike at no resistance and at minute ten, I started to feel a clicking and grinding in my knee, so I stopped. There is no swelling or residual pain. Let's hope it goes away. I don't want to hobble around Disney!
tiggerrn and Bunchkin- Can't wait for you to see Wall-E and tell me what you think!

Yesterday was a pretty good day at my house:)
I got up kinda late (8am, that's really late for me), I walked 2 miles (a slow walk for me, so I didn't trigger a worse headache), took the girls to the park, came home and spent time with the girls in the pool, then tidy'd up the back yard while the girls were still in the pool (lots of weeds to pull, and had to get things cleaned after the siding and windows were put in). Then after dinner I played with the girls a little - it was a nice day!!!! I did a little cleaning inside the house, but very little, so I need to do the rest today after work  Oh well, I felt it was more important for the girls to have a good day yesterday (I'm really trying to make the best of my Wednesdays off).

My headache is much better today :) I took no mediciation yesterday (I wanted to get it all out of my system - I figured a day at home would be good for that). I read online that I could be suffering from a lot of rebound headaches, because of the amount of mediciation I take (either perscription or over the counter). So, I'll take nothing today too, and we'll see what happens. I decided to not call the doctor, because there's 2 different ways to take the mediciation he gave me. I tried it the way he said (2 pills in the am, and then 2 pill in the late afternoon) and I didn't like it. I will try it the other way (2 pills on the onset of headache, and the 1 pill an hour until headache goes away - no more than 5 pills total). If I still don't like how I feel, or it doesn't work, than I'm calling him ::yes:: So, we'll see what happens

I appreciate all your kind thoughts with what I'm going through. It's so nice to have you all to vent to about my issues - it makes me feel a little better. :grouphug:

Sam - I haven't seen Wall-E yet, and I'm not sure if we'll see if before the meet or not. Speaking of which, are you going to the Wall-E meet?

DG - How was Jersey Boys??? I would love to see it!!!!

paint - How did your server training go? I hope it went well!!

Bunchkin - I bet you are cleaning alot - it's hard to have your house up for sale when you have a family living in the house ::yes:: Have you had many lookers lately?

Tigggernnnnn - The meds are Midrin for headache, and Soma for muscle relaxer. I read online, that vitamin B-12 may help with my headaches (read that it helps combat producing to much nitric oxide while working out), so I bought some of that yesterday - we'll see what happens:rolleyes: I will have to try your concotion. I don't understand what type of aspirin you mean though:confused: Can you please give me a brand - thanks!!!!:)

Mac - I'm so sorry to hear about your bad knee :guilty: My knees crackle while going up and down stairs, like if I were stepping on rice krispies, they also hurt. My knees also hurt while getting up for a sitting or squatting position. My MRI showed a hairline fracture in my left knee, and both kneecaps are out of alinment - so my kneecaps don't point straight ahead, but rather to the outside of my body. So when I do things that require them, they crackle because they aren't working properly. My brace is meant to keep the kneecaps where it's suppossed be, and that does help me quite a bit ::yes:: Please keep us posted on how you are doing, and I'll keep you in my prayers. Knee pain is not fun :sad2: especially when you have an active life. Take care!!!!

Well, it's time for me to get going, and workout a little - inside today, I hate all this wind!!!!!
Have a good day today everyone!!

Hi all-
quick fly by.

Slo- keeping you in my thoughts and prayers- for you knees.

Mac- Hope all goes well with the MRI of your knee today. Keep us posted.

If I don't get back here, have a good 4th of July everyone on the Chicago DIS!

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: Jersey Boys was AWESOME! :woohoo: I would definitely go see it again. However, unfortunately there was a lot of swearing so I don't know if I'd take the kids to see it... :confused3

Bunchkin ~ Thanks for the Save The Date suggestion! I think that would be really cute and a great idea! :thumbsup2

Tiggern ~ I was thinking of sending out an engagement notice with something along the lines of "we're engaged and getting married in Disney April 2010" so I think I might do the magnets for those and use the ones disney sends out for the actual save the dates seeing as that won't be for another year! What do you think? is that too much?

well, i'm off to the mall! My dad is having a brick driveway put in and it's awfully loud (i don't know how he's been standing it all week) :confused3 so i'm going shopping instead!

Hi!! :wave2:

Kids had Karate last night. They are both doing well at it. Lauren has a lot of flexibilty so she can do the side kicks really high and the roundabouts too.
I hope they stick with it!
Then we came home and the kids bounced in the neighbor's new trampoline with his daughter and two of our other neighbor kids.
Needless so say they were totally wiped out after that! :)

slo This market lately is so hard for selling houses. We have not had a lookers. But the house info does get emailed out every week to interested buyers. Unlike when we sold our last house almost 4 yrs ago, the market was good then and we had showings every week!! Sometimes a few a week.
YOur day with the girls sounds nice! I forgo a lot of things in order to spend time one on one with the kids too! :thumbsup2

disneygal Have fun at the mall! Going to Orland? I have to get back there to return a shirt we bought at the Disney Store the other day. I hate returning!!!!! It happens to me all the time!

mac I hope all goes well with the MRI findings. My DH has had severe knee problems because of his work. And has had surgery too. It's no fun having bad knees! :sad2:

Morning all.
Headed out to see Wall-E soon.
Slo, the aspirin used to be Ecotrin. I haven't seen that brand lately, but any coated aspirin will work. You just need to be sure it is the 325mg dose not the 81mg dose they use for heart attack prevention.
disneygal, I think advance notice for your wedding is a good idea. It will give the people plenty of time to think about a vacation for that time and save money. I know at my job vacations are scheduled 6 months ahead of time and some jobs do a year ahead at a time.
Paint, I'll be sure to let you know how we like the movie. I will be looking for all those easter eggs and hidden mickeys you sent in the link before.
Later all.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!!!

This is a very quick post today, because I have a lot to do. I need to go for my 2 mile walk, finish cleaning the house, and get everything prepared outside before our guests start coming at 2pm.

I hope everyone has an absolutly wonderful holiday today, filled with lots of fun, lots of laughs, lots of good food, and lots of memories. Most important, please be safe to all that light fireworks!!!

Have a great day everyone!!

Happy 4th of July Everyone!!

Hope everyone has a great day!

We did go see Wall.E yesterday with Tiggerrn. The kids and I thought it was a great movie!!!..... despite the definite political/environmental statement the movie makes!!
I didn't catch all the 'Easter eggs' though. Darn!! ;)

Tiggerrn Stopped by the library to pick up those Chicago Parenting publications, and the new one's for July did not have the coupons we spoke about in them. :(
I'm going to check with my neighbor though, I gave her one last month and she may still have it. If so I'll get that coupon for you. I read in the latest Lego catalog that if you make a purchase at one of our local Lego Store's that you can get some sort of coupon for the Discovery Center. Not sure what amount of the purchase or what the coupon's worth would be. The catalog didn't say.

Morning guys!

Happy 4th of July !!

Went to the fireworks in Oak Brook yesterday, it was a great 25min show. Missed having music with them like in WDW. Not sure where we'll go see them today. Going to hit Naperville Rib Fest tomorrow - yumm!

Also took the girls to see the Kit American Girl movie, it was good and the girls really liked it. My mom is 80yrs and grew up during that time really liked it too and said it was pretty true to the times.

slo - sorry to hear about your health issues. Have you ever considered a chiropractor? My friend used to have problems with headaches and now swears by her chiropractor.

Bunchkin - we saw Wall.E too and loved it. Was suprised that the theatre was pretty empty, only 4 other groups besides us.

disneygal - I asked my DH for tix to Jersey boys for my bday, can't wait to go!

mac - sorry to hear about your knee problems, I can't imagine being laid up like that.

paint - hope the training is going well (and nearly over ;) ). It must be hard with that knee too, hope it feels better soon.

Have a great day everyone! Enjoy your barbeques, parties, fireworks, etc.

Happy 4th of July everyone!!!! Hope you all have a great day with lots of family celebrations!!!!
Paint, loved Wall-E!!!!!
Just a quick fly by. Came in from mowing lawn for a break.
Parade near us doesn't start til 4, so getting a few things done here at home first then headed to family get together. Fireworks tonight and a little carnival time for the kids, though why they have the desire to ride those trashy rides after DL and soon going to WDW beats me.:confused3 I am now a ride :snooty: .
Later.

good 4th of July to all my chicagoland homies today..

thank you for your kind words regarding my knee problem.
the mri was yesterday so i will know more once the doctor receives the info on it.
yes, i can't have knee problems, i have too much to do than to keep sitting on the couch or in front of the computer with my leg up.

did you hear about the shootings last night in chi town after the festivals finished. my son caught the train before the gang problem started.
thank you Jesus.......

i went to the grocery store a few minutes ago and heard on the news that there is a 25 mile back up from chicago highway to the hoosier state for the firework display over there that will be tonight.

i can just imagine how difficult it is sitting in a car trapped in that traffic.
add a few kids to that who have to use the bathroom and you have nightmare.

i have patience but i dread sitting in traffic backed up like that in the car.
just think of all the gas you will go through during that time period.

you all take care.
and remember, if you have a lit fire cracker in your hand, don't hang onto it
a neighbor lost part of their hand last year by doing that. it blew the hand apart.
they had to medivac him to wisconsin

Hey, all! Just sitting here, waiting for dh to shower so we can start our day...and yes, it is almost 1 p.m.! Not much planned for today. I am kinda' sad about it actually! Gas is just so expensive, we can't really afford to drive to any family stuff and the kids are with xh. I work tomorrow and also on Sunday (my bday, happy bday to me, right?).

Tig and Bunchkin- I am glad you enjoyed Wall-E. I know there was a message but not such a bad one, kwim? Message aside, it was still really cute!
ID- Can't wait to take dd to see the Am Girl movie! Glad you liked it!
Bunchkin- Ds is a karaet drop out! YOu should have told me. We have all of his barely used and quite expensive gear!
dgal- Did you go to Orland? I need to go to the Dis store to prep for my trip! All of the ones down by me closed!
slo- Hope you are feeling better and all goes well for the bbq today! Sounds like you are in for a long day!
Rose-:)

Umm...okay...dh is still sitting here...
mac- Let me know how the knee goes.

Bunchkin ~ We saw Ms. Travato (did I spell it right) at our parade today. She was sitting right next to where we were, so it was nice to catch up. I told her that I met someone on a message board who's son had been in her class to, but for the life of me could not remember your real name.

What a fun, fun, fun day yesterday!!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Now the clean-up begins - my kitchen floor makes me do this:eek: :scared1:
I was going to do something last night, but then Kevin and I stayed out with our neighbors until 1:15am, and I decided sleep was more important

Today looks like a gorgeous day :sunny:
After I clean-up, I think I need to lay in the pool for awhile :)

Tonight is my first time being a Extrodinary Minister of Holy Communion at church - I'm so excited!!!! I haven't received my schedule for being a lector yet, but I'm sure my first time doing that will be soon also. I'm really enjoying being more involved with my church. I love getting to know my priest better, and getting to know other parishoners better too.

Bunchkin - I'm glad you all liked Wall-E:) I'm looking forward to seeing it.

ID - I'm looking forward to seeing the AG Movie - I think we will all like it too ::yes::
**I'm actually seeing a chiropractor Monday. I used to see one over 10 years ago for headaches, and he really helped me. After I got married I couldn't go anymore, because our insurance didn't cover it, and the chiropractor told me that my troubles will eventually come back. So, I'm looking forward to seeing this chiropractor on Monday. I'm also going to make an appointment with an allergist to see if I'm having an allergy problem. I need to get to the root of this problem before it drives me crazy!!!!

Tigggerrnnnnnn - Did you all have fun at your carnival last night? I agree with you about those rides - they are nasty!!!!:scared:

Mac - Thank God that your son wasn't anywhere near those shootings - how scary!!!:scared1:
**Good luck with getting your MRI results. Was this your first MRI? I love going for MRI's - I find them relaxing:)

paint - I"m sorry you didn't do anything for the 4th :guilty: Do you have any plans, besides working, for your Bday?

piglet - :wave2:

Well, I've gotta get going and start cleaning this disastor.
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Good Saturday Morning Everyone! :flower3: I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! We had beautiful weather!

Paint and Bunchkin ~ I did go to Orland! We have two weddings two weekends in a row, both in iowa, so I needed to find a dress, which I had no such luck finding. :confused3 I didn't have much luck. However, I stopped in the Dis Store last Sunday and they had awesome sales so hopefully they are still going on when you get there.

ID ~ It was so good! I would definitely see it again. I'm glad you're getting to see it! :thumbsup2

Well I'm off. We are dog sitting all weekend. My one sister's Bulldog, Louie, who is 9 months old and 60 pounds has been here since thursday. Fortunately he is leaving this afternoon b/c my other sister just dropped off her little Chorky, Zion, who is 4 and weighs 6 pounds... needless to say i'm hiding upstairs with the little guy while my dad has the big guy outside. Oh and my dog who is 13 and 25 pounds just kinda stares at them both. Have a good day everyone! :flower3:
