Calling All Candy Cane Inn Experts... Is The AAA Discount Offered Year Round??

I was curious to know if the discount is offered year round there or just during certain times of the year? After a small amount of research am I correct in assuming that there aren't too many discounts offered at the Candy Cane? I saw on their website there was AAA, AARP and a Military discount is this correct? All the above offer 10% off right?
Are there any "benefits" financial or otherwise for using a travel agent to book a Good Neighbor hotel package such as the Candy Cane Inn? My AAA agent whom I adore and use for all my Disney World trips wants to book the Candy Cane for me but I figured if the AAA discount is all that's available I could do that and buy our Park passes at Getaway Today or Ares Travel at a discount.
I have never stayed at the CCI but it looks absolutely adorable and after reading all the positive reviews here on the DIS I just have to stay here on our early June 2010 trip.

Any thoughts or help would be most appreciated!!!

We just stayed there on Sunday and Monday night and had the AAA discount. I couldn't find any other discounts either. I don't think there is any restriction on time of year for the AAA discount but I suppose they might only have a certain number of AAA discounted rooms available. But we only booked the week before we went and it was in July and I didn't have any trouble getting a AAA room. Also, when we checked out they gave us a coupon for $10 off per night on our next visit and it can be used on top of the AAA discount and it is good for a year.

I stayed at the CCI one other time about 16 years ago and was impressed back then how cute it was so DH and I decided to stay there last week for our little anniversary trip. It's not a fancy hotel but they've done a really nice job taking an ordinary motel and making it look nice. The room was nice and clean, the grounds are nice with lots of trees and plants and a fountain in front and the parking lot is all pavers instead of just cement or asphalt. The breakfast is good. It's nothing fancy but it's really nice for a free continental breakfast.

Hi Carla,

We are booked at CCI using AAA for our upcoming August trip. When I stayed at Candy Cane Inn back in Nov '04, we also booked using AAA rate.

I rarely find that booking as a package (hotel & tickets) is better than just booking it myself via their website or by calling the hotel directly (they have an 800#).

I keep checking after I book to see if the rate goes down...and it did! Saved $50 per room for our upcoming stay. Original AAA rate was $113--new rate is $102.

As for tickets...there is usually some kind of summer promo (like buy 3 days get 2 for free). I am able to purchase tickets at a better price thru my HR dept. In fact, I'm purchasing an annual pass this time and saving $20.

I will be sure to post my experiences at the CCI after our upcoming August trip. I loved CCI the first time we stayed there and I've always wanted to go back.

Glad I could help! Also, I forgot to mention that the shuttle to DLR is nice too. We used it about half the time and the other times we just walked since the CCI is really close to the parks.

If Disney comes out with some type of promotion how do I take advantage of it if I've already booked a AAA package? Can you do that at CCI?
I am a true WDW veteran always staying onsite so I have absolutely no idea how this Disneyland Good Neighbor stuff works. Especially a package. I book my WDW package as soon as the dates/rates become available always knowing I can apply any discount/promotion when they become available but how do I do that with a AAA package at the Candy Cane Inn? I so hate to hurt my dear AAA agent's feelings though. Geez, what to do I ask you?

I'm really not sure about AAA packages at DL--I have only booked one package for a DL trip--that was when we could get unlimited fast passes!! Unfortunately, that hasn't been offered for awhile!
