We just returned from a 7 day stay at POR and enjoyed ourselves. Everything was good except the bus service. We are planning another trip in December with 4 kids (celebrating my DD's birthday) and were thinking about getting 2 rooms at ASMo. Please tell me about this resort.....we are getting 2 rooms for 59.00 a night each and I just couldn't pass that rate up. My DD has always wanted to stay at ASMo and I think this would be the perfect time. Please tell me the good and the bad. (food courts, pools, bus transportation and any thing else you can think of.) thanks so much

Quick question.......are the rates out for December...I have been looking for a rate around 59.00 but all the promotions end the beginning of october? Were are you getting 59.00? Thanks,

That is the rate I was given for AAA! I didn't ask any questions, jsut reserved the rooms!:D

I have stayed at the all stars many times and the best thing about it is the bus service! Never had any problems and they always came within 15 minutes. The food court is also fast and has a decent selection. It is definitely worth the price!!!

You will LOVE it, and you got a Great deal!:D I am paying 77.25 for June!;)

To be honest, I cant think of anything bad about ASMO! We stayed there for the first time last year and fell in love with it. We are going back again in August.
Everything from the room, CMs, food court, buses was great! The theming is just so Disney. Some of the things Ive heard people complain about, we had no problems with. Our room was not too small for 5 of us(including a crib and a double carriage). We had no excess noise outside the room and couldnt hear anyones toiltes flushing except ours. The food court and pools were never overly crowded. I agree with cheshire kitty. Bus service was awesome. We never waited longer than 10 minutes coming or going. The 10 minute wait was after Fantasmic so thats expected.
I definitely prefer ASMO to POR and would have a hard time going back to a moderate now. As long as you dont go in expecting the amenities of a deluxe, you should enjoy it.

It is the perfect place for 4 kids!! We enjoyed it a lot. The food court is pretty good and cheap as far as DW prices go. The pool is huge and the bus service is awsome. Go For It!

Loved ASMo, but you wanted to know the bad too.
So...
Checking In! Both times that we have stayed there, it has taken forever (30 min.) just to check in. That does not count waiting in a line if there is one. Just dealing with the CM alone took this long. I don't know if we just got new ones or what. I was thinking that maybe all the hotel trainees work there first before moving on to the pricey resorts or something. I don't know. Maybe just bad luck.

Stayed in Dalmation building once and Herbie building once. Like them both. Room enough for us family of 5 (infant in a crib). Standard hotel size room. We liked it and had a great time.

We always stay at either the All Stars (usually Movies because my son likes that one the best, although I like Music!) or a deluxe. We just don't think the moderates are worth the extra cost, since the rooms are just about exactly the same size and the bathroom setup is nearly identical (one extra sink does not thrill us).

I have stayed at both Movies and Music and really enjoyed them both. Last visit was the movies and it is great, my daughter really loved this place, she was 6 at the time and wants to go back our next visit (next visit Swan/Dolphin).

The food courts were great, I recommend buying the refillable mugs, food selection was fantastic and not to pricey, we took along a collapsible cooler and filled it with juice, milk, yougurt, fruit etc for a quick morning breakfast, it can get pretty pricy eating out every meal so we usually ate breakfast in our room, oh I forgot we brought our own cereal.

The bus service was good, just remember the movies is the last pick up on the route so sometimes we had to stand on the bus, not a big deal to us with only 1 child and sometimes a nice person would give up there seat so my daughter could sit.

The rooms were really nice and clean, we stayed in the dalmations section 3rd floor so we never heard to much noise, a little noise in the courtyard in the early morning or later night but not bad. The rooms are average size, good for a family of 3 but you will love the extra space with 2 rooms.

The theme of this place cant be beat, it is very disney, we walked all around the resort just to look at the different sections and thought the whole place was great. Overall we thought the "Movies" was a great value.

Have a great trip!!!

I forgot to mention the pools are really cute my daughter loved the Sorcerer Mickey pool and the Mighty Ducks too, we spent more time at the Mighty Ducks because it was less crowded.

There is also laundry facilities onsite that might be of help to you
with 4 kids. Seems it was less crowded in the later afternoon. We often came back to the resort at this time to relax and swim before heading back to the parks for the evening.

As I said before have a great trip!

Add me to the list of All-Star fans!!! We've stayed at the Movies twice, and we LOVE it! My youngest DD really fell in love with this hotel! We stayed in the Love Bug section in Nov/Dec, 2000 and it was a short walk to food court/bus stop. Last Nov/Dec, we stayed in 101 Dalmations. Our flight arrived at 12:30 AM, and by the time we got to the hotel, Allison had fallen asleep in the car. When she heard the CM say we were in 101 Dalmations, she got her second wind and danced to the room!!

I also think the All-Stars has the best bus transportation! I don't think the Movies is always the last pick up though, because many times, we were the first ones on the bus; sometimes we stopped at the other All-Stars, but most times, we didn't!

In 2000, it was too cold for us to swim (although they did have some kids swimming), and last year, it was warm enough, but we didn't go swimming. The pools were never that crowded.

Food court was pretty good, especially for breakfast. And, another vote for the refillable mugs!!

Enjoy your stay!!!!

We stayed at ASmo in Jan and loved it! We were in toy Story , on the quiet side, first floor. Very short walk to food court/pool. we also had two rooms (at $49). This was a great deal for us. The two rooms are nice to have. You have two bathrooms and at night one room was quiet (for those who were tired) and the other room had the TV on, etc. The food court is great and the bus. We stayed at CBR in May and althought the rooms were much nicer, I can't justify paying about double (we paid $84) for a moderate. We didn't even use the extra amenitites! We will be at ASMU Labor Day Weekend! Make sure you request connecting rooms!

I just wanted to say that I've stayed at ASMos twice, once in Dalmatians and once in Toy story sections and enjoyed it very much. Especially with kids, the themeing is so cute, and for $59 - that's a great rate.

The food court is nice and I agree with the other posters on most everything. The only thing I differ on is that I do think the rooms are small ( JMHO, as compared with other Disney resorts) but with two rooms it'll be just fine. We were just there in April and felt cramped with all our luggage, pack & play and the scooter (my DH tore some ligaments in his leg 3 days before we left) we rented. 2 adults and two small kids in our group. I would stay there again but I like the two connecting rooms idea.

Have a great time!

How did you all get suck good rates? Are the AP or DC?

And...when did you send your room requests in and do you send it directly to the resort or CR?

Thanks!!!!

15 more days!!!

Ammendment to the last post - SUCH...not suck...sorry!
