okay one more post what the heck!!
I was watching the Today show the other day. The travel reporter on the show was talking about travel of course and losing luggage. He said that he ships his luggage whenever possible to avoid lost luggage. I am curious if anyone does this. I was thinking now with the issues of the day is this might not be a good option?
Thanks,
Beth
I know people who fly to ski resorts ship their skis ahead of time to the resort. Its not cheap but it means their skis don't get lost.
I was reading another thread about shipping items ahead of time to
DCL and someone commented that the box they shipped arrived in their room before their luggage did. So they were thinking that next time they would ship their first-day clothes ahead of time.
I just shipped a box of snacks/sodas to DCL. I used UPS and they said it would take about four days to arrive. It cost about $11 to ship.
I used to carry all my shampoo etc in my carry-on luggage but stopped doing that because it got too heavy. I just put everything in zip lock bags in the checked luggage. The only funny thing is that my contact lens solution is freezing when I first unpack.
Yeah, I used to carry on all kinds of bottles of water/soda/etc on planes for the trip. Guess I can't do that anymore.
I'm supposed to get my cruise docs today. We're leaving on the 19th at probably some ungodly hour of the morning from Newark. And now we have to get there even earlier. I know its for the best and should not really complain.
But from now on I am definitely flying down the day before so I can take a later flight and not be all stressed on the day of the cruise.
Buddy Bear....your decision to drive is looking pretty good.
Safe travels for all those traveling from the UK right now.
