I don't know what happened this a.m. or if this is typical. I called right away for the first day we could make for our trip 90 days out. Wanted Mama Melrose, was told could not do fantasmic so was just trying to get it for dinner. The CM told me the latest they had was 4:45- WHAT??? We are on the dining plan and at 4:45 will still be full from lunch. So I changed to Primetime Cafe, they said the latest there is 5:00. What is the deal?? Why can't I eat dinner around 7 p.m. anywhere. I will be really disappointed if every restaraunt I try for this week is like this. Anyone else having similiar problems? Will they open up more times later. I don't want to be eating dinner at 4 o'clock every day, how disappointing.

I can almost guarantee you that more Fantasmic times will open up around 30 days out. They only release a few, early times at 90 days and at around 30 days open up later times. If Fantasmic is at 8:30, then times around 6:00 - 6:30 will open up closer to your trip. That has happened for me twice now and others have reported the same.

Not sure why 50's Prime Time was also so early?? :confused3

Good luck!

But I wasn't trying for Fantasmic, just dinner. That is the earliest they had for both places. I just don't understand it. I guess we'll keep trying back. I was just curious to see if others had the same problems.

Well, unless there's some reason they are closing early that day, I think more times will open up...what is the date for 90 days from now? That is really early. Not sure why.

They don't open the late seatings at MGM for dinner until you hit the 30 day mark/or under. This has been the case for my last 6 trips. I now call and book the latest seating, then when I'm under 30, I call back and rebook. I don't know why they do this, they just do. Don't panic, just give yourself a reminder. I just called last night and did all of my PS for April 29-May 14, less than 60 days and still ran into that problem for MGM.

I had this problem (and I'm 60 days out)...she said that they won't release later dining times because it's an Extra Magic Hour night...but once she confirmed that I was a resort guest and had the tickets to go to that night...then she checked and got me a later time. Maybe that could be it?

As others have said, this is a common problem at MGM for dinner. I have no idea why they do this, but it has happened to us the last 3 trips, and I've read many reports of others having the same issue. It doesn't matter if you're doing the FDP or not, it still happens.

What I've done, and will continue to do, is make the latest PS at the 90 day mark, then start calling back around the 30 day mark. Sometimes the later times are not available right at the 30 day mark, but keep trying because they always seem to release later times sometime between 30 days and 3 weeks out.

::yes:: they do this at mk too. don't worry. :)

I just made a PS this morning for the fantasmic dinner package and was told the only restaurants were Hollywood and Vine, Mama Melrose and Brown Derby.

You were able to try for Prime Time? I would love to be able to eat there instead of H&V (well my kids would).

Prime Time is not part of the Fantasmic Dinner Package, only the Brown Derby, H&V and Momma Melrose. I think that the original poster said they were not looking for the Fantasmic package just dinner at MGM. They took the Prime Time because it was a later time than Momma Melrose.
.

We were noticing the same thing. We are going May 15-21 and when my mom went to make PS they were't that late at all. Most were around 5pm the latest.

That happened to me last year when I was trying to make our ps 90 days out. They didnt have anything late at Sci Fi or Prime Time but later as park sch opened up I was able to call back and get a later time for Sci Fi (we just stuck to lunch at Prime Time).
