I'm beginning to believe what others have posted about CM's having a certain number of FD pins to hand out to guests who call.
We had originally planned on taking a trip with my parents and my brother and his family. I had called and had no pin attached to my name. Neither did my husband. The CM checked my dad's info said he had FD and all three reservations could be made under it for our trip in late June.
Fast forward to earlier this month....my parents and brother's family are no longer going....leaving us without a FD pin. I called WDW reservations yesterday, explained that we were going to use my dad's pin, but he was no longer able to go and I just wanted to check on the off chance I had a pin added to my name. (Generally when I receive pins, I get them through email, but haven't gotten any in the past couple of months.) At any rate, this CM reminded me of the FD promotion in August and September, but I explained I was a teacher and couldn't use it.
So she says she is "taking a look and sees something, but needs to check what it is". She then says it looks like FD and should cover my dates, but then asks when my dates are. When I told her, she confirmed FD would cover those dates. When I asked if the FD pin would still be good if I confirmed the trip with my husband and called back, she said it would, but then gave me the pin number to "make sure the next CM would have it". She also went ahead and made the reservation without payment to ensure the discount would hold. She said the pin would hold for 6 days, until the 13th.
So excited....was going to wait until next year to return, but may be making a return trip a year sooner.
