dial up free and you bring your own cord...or wifi for 9.95 per day !! yikes lol Also, there are wifi hot spots around the resort for free. Was hoping to stay in room since almost everyone will have there own laptop and we have little ones....what does everyone else do??? This is DVC stay at the Kadani Villas if this makes any difference...thanks all!!

The villas do not have wifi. They have wired internet service. If you are staying on a DVC reservation, then you will not be charged the daily $10 fee.

If you want to turn your room into wifi, then what many do is bring their own wireless router (configure it to the devices before leaving home) and use that.

We keep our router in our OL. It is very easy to set up. As the previous poster said, the internet access is free if you are staying on points. If you see the charge on your bill, just call the front desk. They should remove the charges with no problem.

Enjoy your vacation.

Wired internet is free for DVC members staying on points. If it is an excange or point rental from a member you may be charged.

Also FYI you were not talking to AKL guest relations calls are directed to a call center despite the person answering the phone Animal Kingdom Lodge.

When you get there and sign in to the wired internet, it will ask to confirm the daily charge, and it should clearly tell you that the fee is not charged to DVC members. I've used it at least three times in different resorts with no charges.

Actually, AKV is the one DVC Resort that required me to produce my Blue Member ID Card in order to have the internet charges removed from my bill.

You are exchanging into a DVC Resort, so you will not be eligible for free internet as you are not a DVC Member staying on points. Sorry...

Free wireless at some locations around the resort? I wonder if this might be true. I remember several years ago, that a CM told me in a whispered voice about free wireless in a certain area (darn, I can't remember where). I didn't have my laptop with me on that trip, so I couldn't test that.

At Jambo house there is wireless in the Lobby only.

We had trouble using a router as it would constantly lose internet during idle periods...

There is a monthly code for DVC members that you have to call and get. They change it during the last week of the month.

We were never able to get an Ipod touch to connect via the rooms router..?!?!?!?

dial up free and you bring your own cord

That wasn't our experience in the DVC rooms at Jambo, or at OKW. They had a cord.

And as others have said, there's no room wifi. Not even for 9.95 a day. So that rep...had a few misunderstandings...

The cable hangs in the closet in a bag...one of the last places you would look for it.,..

There should be a card on the desk where the connection is telling you the cord is in the closest. Of course soemtimes the cords disappear.

If you can't find one in any of the closests, call housekeeping and they will bring you. Be sure to let them know yours was missing as you could be charged for it.
