We are flying Delta BOS to MCO in early November. When Delta announced their flight reductions in September, I called to check on my flights, and was told that both flights were fine.
Yesterday I double checked on the Delta website and found out that my flights no longer exist! So I called Delta. I was told that they are notifying people of changes about 1 week from departure (this means that you won't find out that you've been changed until the last minute unless you check yourself). They had rebooked me on a later flight out of Boston that would get us into MCO too late to even have a fun dinner!

BUT - they had space on an earlier flight that did not have space when I made my reservations in July, and were happy to change us to that flight! So now we are getting in earlier than we had planned (early enough to hit MK!).

Moral of the story - check on your flights NOW. If they've rebooked you on a flight you don't like, you may be able to change it. If you wait until they call you to tell you, that may not be an option.

did you just click on flight schedules and punch in your route and check all flights?
i am going Dec1 to 15 ??? MHT to TPA

I had the same thing happen to me. I booked through Expedia and check there frequently but it always said no changes. But I also checked "Flight Schedules" at the Delta website and noticed my flight going down Nov 29 was gone. The flight coming home was changed to an hour later.

I called Delta and she booked me on a flight a half hour earlier than the one that was canceled. I would not want to wait till a week before and run the risk of a late flight or a connecting flight!

As of now my flights are similar times to before and non-stop so I'm still happy.

I check it everyday, though to be sure nothing's changed. You must be on top of it to get a good replacement flight.

by the way, Expedia still has my old info and has never notified me of any cancelations or changes. I had to find out myself.

I called to check on my flights yesterday. I'm flying out of Boston to Orlando and my flights haven't changed, even though I was expecting them to. I'm glad they're not changing because I have an early flight in--7a--and a late flight out--3:40p!

Yes. I went to the website, did a show all flights for my route, and didn't find my flights.

NurseKim:
Ouch....Logan at 5AM?

Thanks i have been checking that every few days.. as of this morning we are still all set

NurseKim:
I don't know if DL has different flights flying on different days, but on the days I'm travelling, the flights back are at 7AM, 11:05AM, 2:30PM, and 7:15PM (We're on the 715p). I hope the 3:40p is still flying...

I had booked with DL for Thanksgiving week back in March. Called to check yesterday, and my flight down had been cancelled. My choices were to take a flight that arrived either 4 hours earlier, or four hours later. Ugh. We are meeting my sister at the airport with her family, and all travelling together to Shades of Green. We are staying there on my brother-in-laws eligibility.

We didn't want to spend four hours waiting for them at the airport--we can't go to SoG without them, we are all taking Tiffany to SoG together, and even if we made two trips, we can't check in without them. We didn't want to come in four hours later, and miss the dinner reservations. They have two toddlers, so having them wait for us was also not an option.

I also didn't want to have to get to the airport before 5:00am!!

I asked what they had for connecting flights that would get us in at about the same time. They offered a flight through ATL, but I pulled it up on their web site, and there were no seats showing available. So I asked if she can confirm seat assignments. She told me no. I asked if the flight was already oversold, and was told yes. I fought back the urge to scream at her and ask her why she was even thinking about booking me on an oversold flight Thanksgiving week. Duh!

At any rate, at the same time I was on CO's site, and I noticed they had a flight at the same time as the one that had cancelled with DL. So I told the lady I'd have to think about it and call back. I called CO, put the tickets on hold (they were actually a few dollars cheaper than the DL tickets!) and then called DL and cancelled the tickets I had with them, based on the fact tha I would be arriving more than four hours earlier or later than originally booked. No problem, they gave me a full refund. I called CO back and booked those tickets. Got seat assignments, yeah! I'm happier anyway, I'm trying to build my CO FF account to go back to Calgary with the whole family flying first class in July of 2003!

Our ENTIRE family of 16 are going on a flight on December 14th (now the 1th) and they were all told Thursday night they could either go a day earlier or a day later. How do you like them apples! Everything worked out alright - I got them all rooms at the Marriott thanks to this great board at 50% of the regular price (love that!) but still! I want to call up the airline and tell them they have everyone I love in the world on their flight and for them to fly safe!

I just called about our Christmas reservations(made in February). My seats assignments have changed on two out four legs. The flight numbers have changed and the times have changed by only a few minutes. I asked the agent if she expected more changes before Christmas and she said rather firmly, "Yes". The motto of this story is to keep checking all the time--at least once a day.
