Call to Confirm Resort Reservation?

I was wondering if anyone generally call the resort a few days ahead of time and confirm their reservation. Or do you just trust that your reservation is intact and bring the confirmation number?

Also, whether you call or not, has anyone had problems with their reservations when they checked in? For example, they were told that they had no reservation when they arrived .

I usually call just to verify everything is ready to go and all my requests are on there. I have never got to the resort and found my reservation not there, I have called and it was not there because the CC did not go through for some strange reason and they canceled it instead of letting me know so I could give them another form of payment, that was easily fixed.

 

[Procrastinate]

I have never had a problem, but they always send me an email confirmation when I make the reservation and a reminder a few days before. If you have the confirmation number you can also check it online.
