We just returned from our first WDW trip on the 5th. However, dh has talked about going fall of 08'. I'm so excited I can start planning again :rotfl:
How soon is too early to plan?
Is it better to go during free dining and save $$ or go in October and save time with less crowds.

I know bad Mommy we are taking dd out of school.

I love going in the fall, October/November, when crowds are thin. We're trying free dining in September this year. We've gone once before in September and it was nice but it's so much cooler in November!

Anytime at DW is a good time though.:thumbsup2

Did they announce free dining in 2008? If so, I've got to get planning myself!

Sorry, I was talking about 2007. :scared:

No big deal...but I was just worried that maybe I missed something and that they announced free dining for next year already. I was like...uh oh...better get on the phone and get my ressies! :rotfl:

I hope they do offer free dining some time next year-especially since they are jacking the price of the dining plan up in January. :sad1:

It's never too early to start planning your next Disney trip! (At least on here...My DH is definitely not ready to hear about the plans I have for next March yet - LOL!)
I think crowds in the parks will be relatively similar both times. Crowds in the restaurants will be higher during free dining.
Are you eligible for other discounts, like AAA? Depending on that and what your eating style is, it could be cheaper to go NOT during free dining and get the room discount instead.
If you're worried about missing school, you could go during Columbus Day weekend so there are fewer days missed. If I remember right, you get that off in NY, but a lot of the country doesn't, so the crowds aren't awful.

I agree...it is never too early to start planning the next trip :yay:
We haven't even gone yet this year (going Oct 28) and I am already planning next years trip in my mind. Going to try Vero Beach for a few days.

Anyway, if you can take the heat, I'd go for September 08 if there is free dining. September is typically slow in the parks. But it will be hot and muggy so be prepared. Have fun.

We have booked our sept 2007 for 18 people.

We have booked our Dec 2007 for a smaller group.

We have already started talking about Oct 2008.

I think it is never too early to talk about future trips because it is so much fun. The most difficult thing about that, is talking, planning, then the wait for the discount (the wait is what drives me crazy).
