I don't know any of you, but I truly believe in the power of prayer and my friend desperately needs them right now. Her infant son was diagnosed this morning with SCID (Severe Combined Immune Deficiency), which for those who don't know is the same illness featured in the John Travolta movie "Boy In The Plastic Bubble." Her son's case is severe -- they say without a bone marrow transplant he will not survive. There is a 25% chance his 3 yo sister will be a match, but the doctors here at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital say if she is not a match the outlook is grim, because it's rare to find a match on the national registry. There is a doctor who is pioneering some new treatments at Duke and they will travel there if necessary. A group of us at church have asked what she needs, and all they want is prayers, prayers, prayers. So please...I am trying to get the word out and get her son on as many prayer lists as possible. Even if the worst should happen, please pray that the Lord gives them comfort and peace. Thank you so much.

I sure do hope it works out for him.
Prayers said. We serve a mighty God who can do what others deem impossible. Keep us updated please.
