Call DVC or WDW for dining?

Is there any advantage to calling DVC vs the WDW dine or event lines when trying for a hard to get reservation?

I have in mind the rumored dessert party for MVMCP.

Disney Dining (407-WDW-DINE) opens at 7 AM Eastern.
Member Services opens at 9 AM Eastern.

The advantage to calling MS for dining is they have a toll free number.
The disadvantage to calling MS for dining is they open 2 hours after the regular Disney Dining phone lines do.

Disney Dining is well versed at making dining reservation, MS may or may not be. Better to use an expert in one thing (dining reservations) than use someone who does room reservations.

I agree with Bill. If I need to call, I call the Dining line, not DVC.

Absolutely, we've done it a number of times, with no issues.

Why call when you can make ADRs online ? The only time we called was when our group wanted to split at dinner one night and online wouldn't let me make 2 ADRs for different places around the same time.
