California Screamin at night?

Hi my family and I will be at DL and DCA the end of July. My 11 dd really wants to ride California Screamin at night. With WOC going on, is there any chance to still do this? Does it get dark before WOC starts? And do they open the ride back up in between shows?

Yes, they do run Screamin after 8:30 but it is shut down by the 9PM WOC show.

I was wondering the same thing. I'll be there in a couple weeks and I have never rode Scaremin' and would prefer my first time to be at night. But it doesnt get dark here until around 9-9:30. Which would obviously be during the WOC show :/

Screamin at Night is great fun!!! Better than WOC IMHO.

At about 8:30 its just starting to get dark...

It depends on where you are. North or South and if it's Summer or Winter. Right now sunset is around 8pm in Anaheim, so you can get in line then and it should be dark 30 or 40 minutes later when you ride. Then it will close for a 9pm showing of WoC.

A good strategy if you want to hit it during dark. Is to remember than the last person in the standby line has to be off before WoC. So if it says 45 minutes stand by it will need to close(stop letting people in line) by 8 to be done in time. So you could watch the stand by wait times and try to time it right to ride after sunset and before WoC.

YES!!!! We love WOC at night, and the FunWheel is good too especially if you can time it right with the DL fireworks.

Question: WHY is Screamin closed after WofC starts? Yes, the ride is used as a backdrop. Well, what's the big deal about having a rollercoaster car zip through Mickey's loop during the show? I think it would have zero impact on the performance of WofC. But, maybe the water spray would be dangerous for the shotgun start? Besides, I think it would be cool to get a glimpse of the fountains while riding the ride. Does anybody know the official answer on this?

I think it would be seriously distracting for the WOC viewers to have a rollercoaster zipping behind the show with screaming riders. Similarly with the Golden Zephyr and Silly Symphony Swings anmd Fun Wheel. The lights and motion in the background would distract.

Well, I saw plenty of people riding Screamin at night time in late June.

Remember that up until last summer when WOC started, DCA typically closed at 9PM in the summer. Now you can ride Screamin up til about 8:45PM. Not that different from before.

In the winter it gets dark at 5PM. So you get 3+ hours of night time to ride Screamin for nights when WOC plays at 9PM and 2+ hours when it plays at 8PM.
