California schools, DL crowds

Will be heading to So Cal. from 8/28-Sept 5th. Plan to hit DL on an overnight at the DLH on 8/30-31 for two days in DL and CA. Does anyone know if Ca students are back to school during this time? Also is a Tues. and Wed. less crowded in DL and CA? Is there a good plan to see both of the parks in two days. For example, mornings at DL and evenings in CA? Also plan on Legoland and San Diego Zoo during my saty the. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Northern CA schools will be in session by then. Our traditional schools start 8/29. Many of schools in CA operate on a year-round schedule - meaning there are always kids that are "off-track" while the remaining 3/4s of their school is in session. The year-round schools in our area started their new school year in July.

I've seen some schedules that show that many LA schools don't start until after Labor Day. However, many schools within CA start earlier, so the parks will be a little less crowded than they are now. Disney has shortened the hours a little for that week, and many of the hotel rates are slightly reduced, so that indicates that somewhat lower crowds are expected.

Yes, Tue. and Wed. should be a little less crowded.

I tend to start my days early at DL and hop over to DCA when DL starts getting crowded (often grabbing a FP before I go). I usually go back to DL in the evening for shows (FWs is awesome) and late FPs.

August 28 is the first day of value season. Hours are shorter that week, with DL closing at 10 and DCA closing at 7. I am expecting slightly lower crowds, but not by much. I think that a lot of schools everywhere do not start until after Labor Day and many people will be taking their vacations during that week. I think that Mon-Thurs will be managable, picking up on Friday for the holiday weekend. (DL hotels have availability up until Wed, but none for Thurs.) We will be at DL/DCA Wed-Fri of that week and I am planning for very large crowds, so anything less than that will be a pleasant surprise.

Tues the 6th. We will be there the 6th -9th. I picked going after Labor da. Hoping that more kids would be back at shcool.

By the Tuesday after Labor Day most if not all schools have started. Of like was mentioned a lot of school are year round meaning some kids are always off/out of school.

I'm in Ventura County and my daughter starts her first day of Kindergarten August 31st.

As a last hurrah for the summer my friend (her son is also starting kindergarten) and I are taking our little ones to Disneyland on August 30th. I hope not too many other parents are doing this.

I can't imagine the crowds being terrible though...

I live in Anaheim and go to school in the next city over (college) and we are back in school by then. The crowds post summer aren't too bad
