California resident ticket

So me and my family purchased the CA resident tickets, we have one day left to use. I know the ticket is not upgradeable, I understand that. However, I just never thought that park hopper was an upgrade. When choosing the ticket option, it just lists 1 park per day or park hopper, when selecting it never mentioned that park hopper would be an upgrade. Has anyone been able to add park hopper? I'm willing to pay for it, and it's only for 1 day. To me it wouldn't be a big deal, but the day we're going is a birthday for a member of our party. Any ideas on a way I may be able to get park hopper?

When you bought the ticket, you selected “one park per day” or “parkhopper,” which was more expensive. You had to pick at that time of purchase.

It’s possible that you could upgrade yours to parkhopper tickets at the ticket booth, but you’d have to pay the total price difference, as if the ticket was a hopper on all three days (which you didn’t use). So that’s up to you.

Thanks for the reply! I would be more than willing to pay the difference, I would do so in a heart beat. Does anyone know if anyone has been able to just pay the difference and get park hopper?

The tickets very clearly state in the terms and conditions that they are NOT upgradeable. I don't believe you can do what you'd like to do. They have held firm on the "no upgrades" on those tickets thus far.

I wouldn’t be surprised if you could pay the difference to make them into a hopper, though. I’d use the app chat function to ask, if you have a few days to wait for a response.

Yeah, I'm hoping I can. I understand why they have no upgrading and I did read that part, but like I said I just never thought they would mean park hopper. I'd understand why they wouldn't allow you to upgrade to a magic key. But I'm surprised with not letting people pay the difference for park hopper, especially since it means more $ in their pockets, and there hasn't been crowds like there has been.

An upgrade is an upgrade. They won't let you add more days to these either, even by paying the difference between them and a regular multi-day hopper.

Right, but it’s an option for the same ticket deal. There was a hopper version of this exact ticket deal available. That’s not the same as trying to add days or turn it into a Key or whatever.

I’m not saying it’s a guarantee, but given how Disney usually treats tickets, it wouldn’t surprise me if you could pay for the more expensive version of these same tickets. That’s all I’m saying.

I actually think my friend may have done this, which is part of why I think it’s possible. She bought the one-park version but then wanted to join some family visiting, and they had a hopper. That was in July and I don’t recall what she ended up doing, but I sort of feel like her pictures from the day included both parks…

Just curious did you ever find out from your friend is they did add the park hopper?

I texted her since you were curious, and she said they DID change them from one-park-per-day tickets to hoppers at the booth, BUT she hadn’t used the tickets yet at that point. So that’s not exactly the same situation you’re in, but she was able to do it at the booth. She is also not sure if that’s official policy, or if she just got a nice CM.

Thank you for doing that I really appreciate it! I'm glad your friend was able to switch her ticket. Yeah not exactly the same situation, but I'm glad to know they did it for someone. I'm still going to try, who knows maybe I'll get a nice CM too!
