Help Folks!
I really need some of u west coast people to give me the tips on Disneyland. How about Anaheim in general? What are the sights to see in the general area? A little further? We're going cross-country. I think we can handle it! What should we do? Thanks in advance! All help is deeply appreciated as part of our first Californian trip!

Read the sticky at the top of this forum- the one with maps/hotels/hydro guys tips. That is a good place to get started. As for other Southern California things to do, there is another subforum at the top for So. California. I would highly suggest San Diego, there is so much to do, beautiful beaches, great restaurants and lots of activities, you will get to see the stereotypical "California"- you won't get this same feeling in Anaheim.

Good luck, if you stick around on these boards you will find that you can get almost all of your more specific questions answered. You can also do a search because there are many many threads about your hotel choices near Disneyland that will help you in your planning.

Have fun.

I agree with PP that San Diego is a great place to visit with lots of stuff to do (zoo, seaworld, beaches, shopping, uss midway, old town, etc). I believe there is a sticky at the top of the Southern California forum that lists other things to do while visiting here. And as long as you're asking for opinions on the subject :goodvibes, might I add my opinion about visiting the Hollywood area? I don't know if this is something you were thinking about or not but a lot of people seem to have that on their itineraries. I personally don't think it's worth the effort of going over there. I just don't get it. :confused3 There are just so many other more interesting places (imo) to visit in Southern California. Catalina Island is nice (a bit pricey for the ferry though) and the Pasadena area is also a really great place to visit but I don't hear about many people going over there (Huntington library and gardens, shopping and restaurants on Colorado street, the Gamble House, etc).

And yes, definitely start with the sticky's (especially Hydroguy's tips) at the top of the page for a lot of great DLR tips. Feel free to ask any more questions you might have!
