Well I have been haunting the cruise line forum for the announcement of 2012 DCL announcements...I did not care for the announcement:lmao:

Have been to DW 3 11-17 stays:thumbsup2

I guess I am just more of a parks girl:goodvibes

So Disneyland it is!

I have my DL hotel already Parkvue...

I am thinking 3 nights Universal (get two days at Universal through Go Pass if I do this park first and buy Go Pass through Universal site), 5 Days in San Diego (Sea World, San Diego Zoo and would like to enjoy the resort here because there are some really pretty hotels here), then end the trip with our true destination DL for 6 days at the Park Vue.

Now I am deciding should I get a hotel by Universal or drive from the Park Vue...I want to keep it simple, so I am thinking a 3 nights stay at Universal to avoid the scairy traffic...

Here are my questions:

Is the traffic that scairy?

Is there a place near Universal that will take a family of 5 in one room?

Do you think it would be more work to have a change of hotels or just keep Park Vue as our home base?

Love the DIS, and would love advice...loved that this was my 1000th post, because this is a whole new chapter in my Disney planning:goodvibes

Don't like the DCL 2012 itineraries????

In the future feel free to ask planning question on the main DL board. The community room is only so much help as it is mostly for games.

USH is not like universal Florida maybe you do or don't know this. But if you want two days than that is fine.

I would not want to drive there twice and would look at nearby hotels. There is a Hilton and Shareton right next to the parks but I don't know if they have regular rooms for 5 or fit your budget, but there are some places nearby so you might have to do 2 rooms.

Right around DLR are rental desks for Dollar, Budget and Almamo which shuttles to and from thier lots. There are other just a ways away. You won't need the car at DLR but in San Diego it's almost a must. So you might rent, and return it in Anaheim. But still I wouldn't drive to Universal twice.

In regards to traffic, if you aren't used to it (the fast pace, the amount of cars, the freeway interchanges), it can be very scary. You just can't be a wimpy driver. From the few times I've driven around Universal, the freeway can have a LOT of traffic. Once you're in the Anaheim area, the freeways are well marked and big (5-6 lanes) and there are plenty of signs guiding you to Disneyland. I'm sure you'll be fine though.

Traffic in San Diego (where I currently live) typically isn't as bad as in LA. But again, you can't be wimpy.

Hope this helps...!
