Hi

Last night I managed to make a PS for 8.20pm for Californa Grill and I am hoping to stay on to watch Wishes. I told the CM this was what I wanted and she suggested that time so it should be ok - shouldn't it? :rolleyes2 :scratchin

Anyway my real question is about kids and this resturaunt. DS will be 7 and DD is 5 - is this more a place for adults or will it be fine for them to be there watching wishes? It just seems such a lovely way to see the fireworks?

For those of you have done this can you let me know what you think..... :wave2: :wave2:

Hiya

Haven't done this yet but have it booked for my upcoming trip. I originally, like you, had a PS for 8:20 to see Wishes but when Wishes was moved to 10, I changed the booking to 9:20 on the advice of the good people here (to try and drag the meal out for that length of time would be hard!). It might be okay if you have kids and you want to really take your time and relax. Of course, this is all dependent on the time that Wishes is on when you are planning this. You can check the times on the front page of DIS.

In terms of the kids, I think that as long as you're not wearing clothing straight out of the parks in a tank top you are okay - I suspect there will be a lot of families there and is a wonderful thing for a family to do together.

I hope you enjoy it!

Hi

Like when you are there, wishes is on at 10pm for us. I kinda plumped for 8.20 thinking we wouldn't get seated for a while and that it would be a nightmare keeping the kids around till 9. But maybe later would be better. Oh all these decisions :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I know!! You have to go with what you think is best for you. As long as you can eat slowly enough to drag it out (have a long coffee at the end!!) then you'll be fine!

We've been to California Grill afew times, and seen the fireworks a couple of times.

I wouldn't worry about the time personally, as you'll be lucky to be seated dead on 8.20, and then an hour and a half or thereabouts will pass in no time in a restaurant I would think. We've been there when it haqs come on and we are mid meal, and have just got up and gone and watched it outside (along with most of the other diners).

As for children and what to wear, whenever we've been there, there have been plenty of families in there. I always think that dress is down to what you think, I would always wear a shirt in a restaurant like that, but people do wear all sorts of things, but would think vests/swimming costumes may be frowned upon ;) So, as long as you comfortable, I would say that's all that matters.

Matt

Thanks for this and thank for telling me you watch the faireworks outside. D'oh had visions of doing this from the table. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Each wee extra adds to the overall experience. :cloud9: :cloud9:
