Hi everyone!

We will be dining at the California Grill for the first time this June

What are you favorite meals and drinks to order there??

Also,I have a reservation at 6:10, the only other time available is 7:30

We would like to be there for the fireworks

I know we can dine, and go back with our receipt, but I would rather do it all in one shot

Should I move to 7:30?

Thanks for any advice!

I would switch to 7:30. Just ate there in December, with a 7:15 ADR and the timing worked perfectly. They do no not rush with ordering, but food is served quickly. The staff knows that many diners will go outside to view the fireworks; our dessert was on the table waiting for us when we came in.

Loved the goat cheese ravioli. Did not love the sushi. Can’t remember what else we had now! The fireworks are pretty special, they dim the lights and play the HEA music.

We have had dinner a few times and watched fireworks once. 7-7:30 is a good time to do it all without leaving. We stayed CL theme park view so we watched from our balcony a few times when we couldn't get the ADR close to the fireworks. I always get Sushi as an app and the 19 oz. Ribeye. Creme Brulee for dessert when on the menu. Enjoy!

We've made a few ADRs for dinner at CG and cancelled them. I'm very much looking forward to trying the goat cheese ravioli app on our next trip and already informed "the peoples" it wont be cancelled;). So far enjoyed all the sushi, particularly the tempura version, served at brunch. If we are staying at a monorail hotel or visiting MK later in the evening I wouldn't be as inclined to return for the fireworks but now that we are spending more time at the Epcot area hotels I need my receipt ;).

We had one of the pizzas as an app and it was SO good. DH had the oak-fired filet and it was among the best steaks we’ve had at Disney (or anywhere really). I had the pork and it was served over goat cheese polenta and I’m still trying to replicate it 5 months later.
We were too full for dessert but that gives us a great excuse to go back.

The ravioli app was very good. DH got the filet and it was divine, as was my mac and cheese side.

I'm glad to see you are going to switch to a 7:30 ADR, it will work much better to view the fireworks. We have an ADR for CG on June 6th at 7:40 ourselves. Some of my favorite dishes at CG have been the Goat Cheese Ravioli and the Spicy Kazan Roll is to die for. As for entree's the filet has always been good, I have enjoyed the king salmon and the bison loin was pretty good as well. The only thing I have not really cared for in the past with CG has been the desserts; they just seemed to be a bit quirky and not up to the level in my opinion for fine dining.

Good call moving your reservation. When we've done an earlier one and could come back we never do so its best just to plan on staying for the fireworks.

As far as dishes go everything really is fabulous. One of the things that we love about CG is that the menu is seasonal so it turns over so often its hard to have "favorites" as they may be gone before you know it. That said we always enjoy the pizzas and for sushi love the spicy kazan roll. As far as entrees go I'm not a huge fan of pork, but they always have a variant of pork tenderloin that my husband loves. I had the grouper on our last trip and it is still on the menu. The actual fish was good, but it was overwhelmed by the accompaniments.

Personally I'd move it to 7:30...We ate there too early (I think our reservation was for 5ish) and by the time we finished, we would have had to kill like 3 hours before the fireworks. It was pointless for us...Do the later time, that way by the time you finish, you'll have less time to kill. Also, I cant recall the exact name of what I ordered, but it was something to effect of handmade pasta, crab, and marrow??? it was DELICIOUS!!!!! LIke a dream meal honestly. SO So so good...

Have tried many things on their menu and all have been good. The goatcheese ravoli appetizer is amazing. Their sushi was good.
What time are fireworks?
I would probably change to the 7:30 seating. We usually spend about 2 hours there dining, but do drinks, appetizer, entree and desert.
Be aware that you very likely will need to go outside to view the fireworks from the balcony. Many tables don't have a good view of the fireworks.
