Hi everyone!

I am very excited about the fact that I was able to snag a last-minute reservation at the California Grill! The only thing that worries me is that it is at 5:45 PM. For those of you who have been there "early" in the night, did it ruin any of the magic of the restaurant for you? Also, were you invited to come back later that night to view Wishes? Of course we are excited about the food, but the views and the observation deck are a definite plus!

Thanks for any feedback!

The only time I've ever dined at California Grill was for their first seating. I thought it was wonderful because we were able to pace our meal slowly without being a burden to the servers, as the restaurant was not yet very busy. We lingered long enough to see the sun set and enjoy the restaurant at what I'm to understand was a quieter time in the evening. We were invited back to watch the fireworks, but we opted not to.

We often dine at that early time. Sunset is amazing!!!!!

My wife and I are considering the plan of an early reservation (just the two of us) at California Grill and coming back later for Wishes.

My question is whether we can bring our two kids (6 and 7) back with us to see Wishes from the balcony? I know that they will happily let you come back to California Grill for fireworks if you have a receipt from that evening, but I did not know if it was OK to bring the kids back with us.

We have dined at CG many times at first sitting. In fact we dined at 5:30 this past Dec. and it was wonderful. You have a much better chance of getting a window table with one of the first sittings also.

we ate there for the first time april 19th. we also had one of the first seatings. and it was fabulous. we didnt have to worry about the sunset, as it was pouring! lol i was kinda sad we wouldnt make it to wishes- 10 pm that nite. they did in fact invite us back for later, we dined with two wee ones. but there was no way we could do it, they'd be passed out. the food was amazing, the view spectacular, we lucked out an had a window table, and our waiter- gary was awesome. i can't remember what hubby had but i ordered the sweet potato pasta, and man it was sweet. there was only five pcs and with good reason. i ate four and was stuffed. dessert was amazing, we both had the chocolate lava cake. oh and dh also had some wine tastings on disney. enjoy!

I have a 6 o'clock ress. It was great. And yes you can go back.
