Taking my 17-year-old daughter to Disney for our first mother/daughter trip. She loves new experiences, trying new food, etc. We are using Dining Plan for the first time. I'm thinking of trying to get ressies for the California Grill for the day we arrive, which takes two TS credits. It doesn't really look like there's any good TS eating at MK, so I'm thinking I could do two CS meals that day....

Opinions? Is California Grill "worth it?"

TIA!!!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I would think it would be worth it to me anyways IF and only IF you can get a seating time where you would be dining while Wishes is going on.

CG is always worth it IMO :goodvibes

DS15 is an adventurous eater as well. He always orders whatever the "interesting" menu item happens to be here (last visit was ostrich). I have no issues with it since a). he always cleans his plate (did I mention he's a 15 y.o. boy?) b). I am of the belief that if you are going to order something "unusual", best to do it someplace where the expectation is they know what they are doing and c). I know that if he really doesn't like it they will switch out without hesitation.

As for viewing Wishes, yes it's a nice bonus but not the be all end all (IMO). If you can't get a time near/during fireworks, you will still be allowed back up to the observation deck that night by showing your dining receipt.

Absolutely worth it. That is my DH and my favorite Disney restaurant, it is a must do each time we go. We took our DD8 and DD6 for the first time in March and they both loved it and we are planning on taking them back again in December. We always get a 5:30pm ADR, and since that is the earliest seating that they have, they always put us right by the window facing MK, you can watch people going down the big drop on Splash, or watch Astro Orbitor take flight, there is so much to see while up there....I think it is so pretty watching MK at dusk. The great thing about going at that time is that after you are done eating, you can either go back to MK or when it's time for Wishes, you can show your dinner receipt to the front desk (downstairs) and they will allow you to go back up and view it from their outside balcony....best place to watch Wishes IMHO :thumbsup2

Thanks for your input everyone! :flower3: I asked the travel agent to book it, gave her two different options for days, and asked for a ressie during Wishes.
