 I have reservations at the California Grill for our trip in August, but am starting to wonder if it's worth using 2 of my dinners on the DDP...so far we have reservations at Boma, Spoodles, Kona Cafe and Crystal Palace for breakfast....anyone gone to Wolfgang Puck's Cafe? Any other suggestions would be greatly apprecitated...

We have ADR's for two 2TS restaurants, California Grill and Narcoossee's. We are paying out of pocket for a few others for lunch. You probably won't want to miss out on the California Grill experience. :thumbsup2

We have enjoyed the CA Grill both when we were on the DDP and when we were not. I thinkits worth it no matter how you pay. The view alone is worth the price. ;)

As for Wolfgang Puck, we tried that for the first time last year and enjoyed it very much. We are going back again next month.

I have heard great things about CA Grill on the Restaurant Review Board and I'm really excited to try it. To make up for the fact that it is 2 TS credits, we will pay OOP on our arrival day, and using our final Counter Service credit on our final day before leaving for the airport.

I think it will be fine, especially because the Counter Service meals are so big anyway - we always have enough to eat!

They have weinersnichtzel on the menu and i love that dish.

So, were giving up one of our 2 ts meals so we can go there one night.

I guess I will offer a different opinion.

We went to the CA grill last Sept and I will also list our other choices so you will know where we ate:

Coral Reef
Misotaki. (lord help me but I have no clue how to spell that)
San Angel Inn
Victoria and Alberts (not on dining plan of course)
Chef Mickey's
and CA Grill

CA grill gets crowded in the bar area because you have to have a reservation and I think they over book because if someone sits at 6:30....they will sit and take up that table so they can hold out and watch the fireworks. It is a rude practice to me, to sit and watch the same couple at a table drinking coffee after dinner for 45 min while hungry people wait to be seated...but I guess they have to policy against it, but I would not do it.

Once you do sit, it is not a warm place to eat. The kitchen is open to the dining room and it can be a little noisy from kitchen noise and the bar noise.

The food was very good but not that much better than some of the 1 credit places. We really loved San Angel Inn...and some people here have said they did not enjoy it. But it was yummy and a fun place to eat.

I am not saying I would never go there again...but I would try a different 2 credit place first. The view is nice, if you can get a table near the window, we were seated in the middle of the place and no where near the window and it was a birthday. The people by the windows camped out there all night.

Hope this helps.
