I have two choice for ressies at california grill, either 5:50pm or 7:30pm. Wishes starts at 8pm, which of the two ressies if any would be good in order to ensure we see wishes? Also if we have the 7:30 one and for some reason we aren't seated at our table yet, can we still go out on the deck to view? We have never been there before so I don't know how large the deck is but I've heard that anyone who has dined there earlier in the evening can come back and view. Does the deck get too crowded so you can't see or is it managable. I'm planning this for my son's birthday so of course I want it to be perfect!!!!
TIA

Even if you are seated, most tables do not have a good enough view to watch from your table and you are going out onto the deck anyway.

I personally don't like the decks; they do get a bit congested and the view is not "all that" IMO.

I'd take the 7:30 reservation; not sure your son would find it fun to sit for 2 hours in an upscale restaurant for his bithday. Dinner will not take that long so you'd just be dragging it out. If you are not seated by 8:00, you can go out onto the deck to watch anyway.

You don't have to be there when Wishes starts. You can present your receipt for the same night and go back up for the show. So if you pick the earlier time you can still see Wishes. If you want to ensure you see it from your table, I don't think you can ensure that even if you are in the restaurant during the show - not all tables have views.

There can be a good number of people from the deck but I'd still rather watch from there than inside (weather being a consideration).

We ate there last week and had an 8:50pm ressie, we went out onto the deck and in our opinion the view was spectacular. We also got to see Hallowishes again and it was great to get a different perspective on the fire works.

They are good about letting you place your order and getting it after you have seen the fireworks.

DH has requested that we make two ressies next time we go he loved it that much.

just go out on the deck about 15 min before the fireworks start to stake your spot our experience has been that most people come out about 5 minutes before the show starts
