yes but you might not get seated in time.
we had ressies for a hour before wishes and nobody left so we never got seated till after wishes started.
your's is only 20 minutes before. There's a good chance people
will linger till after wishes then leave.
so you might end up watching from the outdoor walkway while you wait.
1) As mentioned, you can go to the balcony.
2) Do not think you can get a table.
3) People with tables will stall to see Wishes.
4) After all, if you had a table 15-min before Wishes, would you get up?
There is a nice little lounge area with seats right near the windows. I would go early, order a cocktail, and settle into those chairs to watch the show. Your table will be ready shortly after the show is over. (Do you know what time Wishes is scheduled to be shown the night you are dining at CG? Might be able to offer more suggestions...)
do you have to walk through the restraunt to get to the observation deck?
i think i would prefer to watch wishes from the deck either before or after i eat...any suggestions on how to make the times work out for something like this?
in other words, if we want to be finished eating when wishes starts, what time should the reservations be for...since we don't know the time of wishes yet...let's say...how many hours in advance of wishes should we make the reservations for?
or would it be better to watch wishes from our table? i just think it would be cooler to watch it from the deck

You must have ressies at CG to have access to the observation deck. From the elevators you go right to the OD...an unobtrusive path, though you do go past some dining tables. To watch before you eat, book ressies for about 15-20 minutes before the show starts. To watch after you eat, book ressies for about 2 hours before the show starts. I think it's coolest to watch from your dining table. Book ressies for about an hour and half before the show starts, and request a window table when you check in with the host/hostess.
Yes they happen every month on various days of the week during the morning and evening at the different parks, so just check the WDW theme park hours to see when and sorry for going off topic.
