We have dinner at Califoria Grill at 8:30. None of us have been there before.

What is the proper dress?? I tend to like nice shorts and a nice shirt. Does that sound right????

Are jeans ok?

We don't want to look like hillbillies.

Thanks.

I have worn "park attire" to the CG before. It really runs the gamut, some people will dress nice, others will come right from the parks (ie - shorts/tee shirts...they do ask that men not wear tank tops)

yes, you can wear jeans.

however...*I* personally felt underdressed for the place, so IF you have the time to "freshen up" before you go to CG, I'd do it...but you would NOT be turned away if you were wearing jeans and a shirt...or nice shorts/shirt.

I have to agree. While they won't turn you away for jeans anytime you are spending around $50+ per person I think at least slacks or nice dress shorts.

Think of what you would wear to a daytime wedding and that would be the minimum.

Well, we have dined there many times but I've never been as dressed up as I would be for a wedding. But there is always a wide variety of dress there as stinkerbelle said.

I have seen jeans there but not often. I know I'm old but unless it's very cool outside, I would avoid that.

The nice shirt and shorts you are planning on would be just fine.

Resort wear/business casual seem to be the way to go.

Collared shirts and slacks for men, casual dresses or skirts/slacks and a nice top for ladies.

It is a fine restaurant, and many locals choose it for special occaisions. Imagine eating at a nicer restaurant at home--you'd wear nicer clothes. I'd suggest the same thing for dinner there.

When I made my PS for CG, I was told "business casual dress is requested". When I asked what that meant, I was told a collared shirt such as a polo shirt with khakis or other pants including jeans was fine. No flip flops or tank tops, and they are dissuading folks from wearing t-shirts.

Would just add that shorts are perfectly acceptable at the CG. Remember that this is not an enforced "code"--merely a suggested way to dress.

It is also our first time. Since it is a "date" for DH and me (inlaws will have DS for the evening), and since tomorrow is not a park day for us, we are dressing a little nicer. I am wearing slacks with a knit top and a Christmas sweater vest. Not sure what DH is wearing, but I would guess khakis and some sort of knit top (polo or otherwise).

We are going to CA Grill on Friday. BF will be wearing a nice button down shirt and khaki's. I'll be wearing a nice dress. Nothing fancy, but a few steps up from park wear. Plus to me, dressing up a bit makes the dinner feel a bit more special!

DH and I ate at CG a few weeks ago. I work khaki capri pants and a long sleeve black top. DH wore khaki pants and a polo shirt. I would say we were dressed right in the middle. There were many people there more dressed up than us, and many more casual.

The only thing they stipulate is "no tank tops for men", so just wear what you feel comfortable in. For me that does mean dressing up for dinner, but I understand that for others that means dressing up as little as possible! As others have said, you will see the full gamut of attire, so if you need to go from park to restuarant, you will be fine.

We have ate there before and we dressed "Resort Casual". Polo shirt, Dockers or nice shorts.
