Hi again,
I need your opinions again! I'm planning one nice dinner for our trip in May. Somy question is, which one of these, California Grill or Narcoossee's, would you go to? Any other signature restaurants would you recommened?

I can't comment on Narcoossee's as we will be eating there for the first time this November. But, California Grill was excellent when we dined there in December, especially nice was the viewing of Wishes! My wife thought it was the best meal of the trip. Flying Fish is also a very good signature restaurant. I am sure you can't go wrong with any of them.

I've never been to Narcoossee's but I have an ADR in Dec!

The California Grill is amazing. And so is Citricos!

I don't think you can wrong with any Signature really!

We had dinner in both on our trip in August. We loved them both, but they are a lot different. We enjoyed Narcoossee's a little bit more and will go there twice on our next trip(August 2010 SSR with Free Dining 18 days). We found Narcoossee's to be a bit quiter and more intimate.Cali Grill was a lot noiser and more hussle and bussle and at times hard to hear yourself talking. But the food in both were excellent and service was really good.We were party of 6 with 2 kids aged 11 and 12 and they really enjoyed food in both.So if looking for a quiter more intimate meal then choose Narcoossee's,if you dont mind choose Cali Grill.View of Wishes is great from both locations. My personal preference was Narcoossee's as i enjoyed been out on the decking looking across the water at Wishes in a nice quiet setting.Hope this helps but no matter which you choose you will have great time as both are great choices. Why not spoil yourselfs and do both.:lmao::lmao:

We have never dined at Narcoossee's so I can't comment on that. However, our absolute favorite restaurant in all of Disney is Cali Grill. This has become a must do for every trip (this is the only restaurant my DH recommends we do). The food is excellent (they have the best fillet of beef) and the view of MK is just amazing. A ton of people have mentioned (in other posts) that it can be quite noisy in the restaurant, but if you get an early ressie (5:30pm) it is not crowded and you get a better chance to get a table by the window looking down at Cinderella's Castle. And if you want to see Wishes from up there, just hold onto your dinning receipt and show the check-in counter and they will let you back up.

The other signature restaurant that we have been to is Artist Point and that was very good too. The atmosphere is great and the food was excellent.

California Grill hands down.

The food at Calfornia Grill is miles above Narcosee's.

As far as food at signature restaurants go I would put Narcosee's on the bottom.

Many folks have had wonderful experiences at Narcosee's, I just was not impressed the 2 times we dined there. CG is an overall nicer dining experience.

As far as atmosphere goes, I find both restaurants can get loud, but the acoustics at Narcosee's made that restarant louder than CG.

Here is my ranking of Signature restaurants we have dined in terms of food:

Victoria & Alberts
California Grill
Brown Derby
Bistro de Paris
Citricos
Yatchsman
Narcosee's
Cinderella's Royal Table

Ca Grill has better food; it's a bit more eclectic and sophisticated. If you go after fireworks, it's not as noisy.

Narcoosees is usually quieter but our last visit there it was as noisy as CG always seems to be.

I have eaten at all of the sgnatures many times and our favorite is Flying Fish. Second would be Citricos. Jiko used to be at the top but we have not enjoyed it as much since the last chef change.

I agree-Narcoose's is a little better, quieter, California Grill is a little too Hustle-bustle for us.

DH & I dined at both this past Dec. The food was excellent at both. The view was spectacular at CG. Our CM was more attentive at CG, as well. We would do both again in a heart beat!

I guess I would have to ask a little more about what you are looking for, others in your party, etc.

I love CA Grill - it is a must do for me. Haven't been to Narcoosees - the menu doesn't really appeal to me. I've been wanting to try Citricos but haven't been yet. For steak I hear Yachtman's is good. Had a very nice evening at Jiko.

It's just me and my mom. No children. We both love seafood and chicken. We're looking for good food and a nice atmospehere, and a good view of Wishes would be nice. I love the fact that Narcoossee's is on the water, but I love that Cali Grill is right over the MK. I'm SOOOO torn!!

I would go with Narcoossees. Don't really care for Cali Grill, I like The Wave much better.

Wee I won't be any help but here goes, lol. I have never been to the Cali Grill, would love to just haven't been yet. I have been to Narcoossee's twice now. Once a couple of years ago and loved it, and then again this past Sept and none of the 5 of us liked it. Said we would never go back. That being said, the view during wishes is spectacular. o good luck on your decision. See I told you I wouldn't be any help. lol

I agree that the CG can be a bit "hustle-bustle", as you put it, as it is loud and there is always a lot going on. But, the wine room at CG is exact oppostie of the rest of the restaurant. It is very quiet, calm, romantic and the views are incredible.

ITA that the food at CG is a mile above Narcoossee's. We have eaten at both, and although we had a fine meal and great service at Narcoossee's, CG is much better!

We also dined at both restaurants in August and preferred Narcoosee's. We have been to the Cali Grill twice for dinner and while the food was good, I did feel that it was a bit overrated and the service not as friendly as some of the other restaurants. Many posters are big fans of the Cali so I'm sure you'll have a good experience if you go there.
We'll be trying Artist's Point in October and Citrico's in December, but they both seem like good possibilities.

What is the Wine Room? That sounds like a nice alternative. I'm assuming the view is the same?

We ate at both last month.

Cali Grill had excellent sushi. Our entrees were WAY over-salted, and we felt like we were dining in fast forward. We were in and out in under an hour - appetizers, entrees, dessert.

Narcoosee's was OK. I dind't love it, and we won't be going back anytime soon.

We preferred Citrico's, Yachtsman, and Flying Fish over Cali Grill & Narcoosee's.
