Has anyone done this? I am going to be staying at the CR in January and would love to treat myself to a nice dinner. I never eaten at the CG, but I was wondering if I'll feel out of place being there by myself?

If you're not comfortable at a table by yourself, I'm pretty sure you can eat at the bar. I've seen folks doing this, and they were not all just having drinks and appys waiting for their table -I've seen folks having dinner at the bar. Anyway, make sure your reservation coordinates with the Wishes fireworks - you can go out to the terrace and watch from there. It's really a wonderful vantage point to get a different perspective on Wishes.:thumbsup2

I used the DxDDP when I was there this past May for my solo trip and chose to use my credits for a 2 credit signature restaurant each night. I ate at Artist Point, Jiko, Flying Fish, Yatchsman, Citricos, Narcoosee, and California Grill. I never felt uncomfortable at any of them. At California Grill I asked for and received a wonderful window table. There was another lady dining solo right next to me, so we chatted a little. I was there too early to watch Wishes, but was told I could come back and watch from the observation deck. I chose to just go back to MK though.

I called today and the best I could do was a 6:05 reservation and Wishes are 8:00 so I took it and figured if I get to see Wishes while eating that will be a nice plus, but if I get done too early I can go to the observation tower.
I've eated at other table service restaurants in WDW by myself but, sometimes I do feel funny if the restaurant has a bit of a romantice feel to it.

I was planning on going to CG on my solo trip too! When are you going? I'll be there from Jan 25th-30. I will be calling tomorrow, but was planing on dinner on the 25th.

I''ll be there 1/12-1/16, I have my reservation at the CG for 1/13. I wanted to celebrate my 55 b-day in WDW but did not want to be there over the MLK holiday. I've never been in January before, but I am looking forward to my stay and a good meal at the Cali Grill.
