I have never done CG but we plan on going on our next trip. Is it possible to request a fireworks view when reserving? Do most seats have a view of the fireworks?
I have also heard about a viewing deck, can someone tell me about that?
We'll have an almost-two-year-old then. Is this restaurant way too fancy to bring a child?

It is much better to watch the fireworks from outside - they have the music out there and it wonderful. I have sat and watched them from the inside and it is just not the same.

The restaurant makes an announcement about 5 minutes before wishes starts and everyone files out to the viewing decks (there are two).

I have seen many kids and babies in the restaurant so I think you will be fine.

We went to CG about two weeks ago. There were plenty of children there of all ages. Our youngest is 4. Did just fine. It was our first time. We loved the restaurant! It's now one of our favorites.

We didn't request a fireworks view table. It just fell into our laps! We were lucky. We were seated in the area closest to the castle. The fireworks were great and the sunset was lovely. :) There are a lot of seats from which you can see the fireworks, but some seats are better than others. If you get there early for your reservation and make a request then you should be fine.

The viewing deck is on the end closest to the castle. When you get off of the elevator you will be near the bar. If you turn to your right and walk behind and past the tables to the double doors, you'll be right there! Wonderful view! I could've stayed on the deck much longer, but it was cold, windy, and getting late.

There are two viewing decks, not just one. The one everyone goes to is the one listed by PP but there is another that is just as good that goes out on the side opposite of the elevator wall. We usually view from that one as it is less crowded.

Everyone asks for a window seat when they arrive; that's pretty standard. However, there are not many tables at the windows in relation to the overall number of tables. You can ask but don't expect it. I think the view from the observation platforms is better anyway because you don't have any glare from the glass windows obstructing your view.

As long as your child is well behaved, you will be fine here. There are lots of kids and the acoustics here is on the noisy side. I've never seen a poorly behaved child here but I've seen plenty of well behaved ones here and everyone seems to enjoy it. I am part of all adult party who eat here every trip and we do expect to see many families with small children. They all look so cute dressed up in their nice clothes.

I didn't know there were two decks! Thanks!

We didn't ask for (or get) a window table. We got a really good fireworks view table. We got a booth that faced the window. Worked great for us. I would've loved to have seen the fireworks from the deck, but with the kids I was glad to see them from our table. I did notice some glare, but it wasn't bad for us. We could see the fireworks fine.

Once in awhile that second deck is not open.
But even if not, the main deck is quite large enough.

How soon before the fireworks begin should you make your reservation for? We would like to be done with our meal when they begin.

That depends on when you are going. We were lucky. Fireworks started at 6pm and fireworks also went off around 9 or 10 pm (I think). We saw the earlier fireworks.
